  1. Good luck bro on your claims. As for me, my dependency claim is going on 4 years, but had a restart date of 3/2012 when I first got rated 90%. Then on 3/13 I was rated 100%, and no movement on the dependency claim, and by the way, they have everything they need. I just don't understand what the hold up is. My claim has been in the Pending Decision Approval stage since 11/ 2013. I hope yours gets done alot sooner. Aggie
  2. Yes sir: God is Good. Congrats on your win, you deserve it, after waiting for so long. Semper FI Aggie
  3. Like PR stated. You can receive both at the same time. In my case, I received my social security prior to receiving my VA compensation. I retired from the Military in 2010, received my social security in 2011, then my VA compensation in 2013. I don't believe they went by my VA records, but they might have used my Military records tho. Oh by the way. I didn't Medically retire from the Military. My retirement was a regular retirement, but I did have a lot of medical issues, but chose to retire with time of service. Aggie
  4. I've been able to long in several times today. Only thing that is not viewable is the education page.
  5. I live in California, and it took me about 2 weeks to get my backpay, and another 2 weeks to get my regular check. Since my last name starts with A, my check comes in on the 3 wednesday of each month. Congrats on your win, and I hope you get your money soon! Peace. Aggie.
  6. Congrats usdart. You deserve what you got. So try to live your life stress free now, and enjoy :-)
  7. Good morning renee. Don't worry, it's a normal thing for the VA to do this. Mine went back and forth several time before they came out with a final decision, they just want to make sure they don't miss any important information. Good luck, and I hope you get some good news really soon. Aggie
  8. Hope you get some really good news soon my friend. Like Carlie says though, find something to do so you won't stress out too much while waiting for the final word. God Bless, and hope everything works out for you. Aggie.
  9. Congrats Jar Head ! Take Care, and may God Bless you and your family. You finally got what you deserve. Say Hello to my great state of Texas for me. Semper Fi Marine ...... Aggie
  10. Cool Breeze, congrats on your most recent bump. As for the time it takes, I guess it depends on the person. As for the wait on DFAS, mine took two years to get the first pay out of my first 90%. Then after going back to gathering of evidence it took another year to get my 100%. I sure hope yours happens sooner than mine. Good luck brother. Aggie.
  11. NavyWife, I am so Happy for you, and your family. Hopefully, this all comes to an end soon, and you get what is rightfully yours. Good Bless. Aggie
  12. Go on E-Benefits, and see if a letter has been generated for any changes to your current rating.
  13. Memory235, you need to print out your letter from e-benefits, that states that you are eligible for an I.D. Card, next call the nearest Military Base I.D Card section, and make an appointment to get your I.D Card. make sure you take other forms of I.D, and a copy of your DD214. really not much more than that. Good luck, and Congratulations on your rating. Aggie.
  14. eg1970. A little about my condition. In 2007 while I was on Active Duty I was due to have several right knee surgeries, and after the first surgery for some reason the knee wouldn't properly heal so my Army doctor sent me to see a civilian Neurologist to have a steroid injection on my lower spine, because an x-ray showed that I need back surgery due to some bad disc. Anyway, he wanted me to have the injection so that I could have some physical therapy and strengthen my right knee prior to my second surgery on the knee, then they were going to decide when to do surgery on my back, and after everything was said and done, I had some really bad reactions from the steroid injection on my back which caused me to get diabetes II, and also caused me to get a stroke on my left eye which caused me to get a hole right in the middle of the retina which left me blind, having light perception on the eye only. My VA doctor annotated everything because she really got scared for me because the injection caused so many other health issues. I filed a claim with the VA a few months before I retired, because I was found unfit for duty, and was asked to retire since I already had well over 20 plus years of active duty. After I retired I put in a claim to the SGLI insurance because of me having a traumatic injury, and the claim would cover me for $50,000 because of the lost of my vision through TSGLI because I was on active duty when this happen to me. Wrong! I was denied the money, because SGLI said I didn't qualify for some reason, and they didn't consider that it was service connected, well it was, and I was found service connected for the eye by the VA, and I was rated at 30% for it. So now, I guess I'll try to find a way to try and get my $$ from the TSGLI for my eye. I don't know if the VA rated my right, reason is that in 2012, I was rated 90% for my service connected issues, but the eye was deferred until they evaluated the eye issue a little more, and in 2013 I was rated 100% P&T with SMC. I also have high blood pressure issues, but nothing was ever mention as to it being the caused to the lost of vision. Sorry for the long reply... Aggie..
  15. I've been in the same stage for months now..Good luck with yours... Aggie
  16. Thank you so much NavyWife for this information. It makes a lot of sense. Hopefully they see things the way we do. As for your comment meghp0405, thank you for looking after our well being, but, I much rather know as much as I can about my claim until it comes to an end, plus being retired I have all the time in the world to do just about everything more than twice. Then, I promise you I will stay away from ebenefits as you requested. Thanks anyway. Aggie.
  17. Thanks, NavyWife, and you are definitely right about Berta, and asknob, they are the Best Of the Best, and a blessing for all of us. You have a Bless Day also. Aggie
  18. NavyWife, I just love reading your comments, you make so much sense. I wish my wife was as creative and helpful towards me, as you are to your husband. Your Husband is a very lucky man to have someone like you that looks after him the way you do. Don't get me wrong, I love my wife very much, and we've been married for quite sometime now, but sometimes we need someone with a clear mind to help us tackle the VA with some of our issues. Like the saying go's. Two heads are better than one especially when fighting the VA, you need all the heads you can get lol. Anyway, I hope everything works out for you and your family :-) God Bless Aggie
  19. Congrats on your New Rating of 100%. Semper FI Aggie
  20. NavyWife, Thank you for the advice, But, my claim has been ongoing since before 2010 when I retired, and when I was first rated 90% in 2012, they started my dependency claim which should have been dated since the day after I retired in 2010 from the Military. But it wasn't. I was rated 90% in March 2012, and that's the date that my dependency is showing. Then in June 2013 I received my final rating of 100% P&T, but I have been paid as single without dependents and the Dependency claim is currently showing as an overdue date, but with a completion date of 19 Jan, 2014. I guess at this late in the game I should maybe just wait and see what happens. I hope that when they do complete my claim I get paid from my effective date of Sept 1st 2010 which is the day after my retirement date, and not March 2012 when I first received my 90% which was a partial rating while they finished my claim on June 2013 when I received my 100%. Either way, I will be happy just to get it over with, with either date. Thanks for your advice. Aggie..
