  1. USAFSP79 I was in the same boat, in the Preparation for Decision stage for a couple of months, then I did an IRIS Inquiry, and a few days later I was in the Pending Decision Approval, and have been there over a month now. Mine is a Dependency Claim which has been on going for a couple of years now.Hopefully you'll get an answer soon, and not sent back another stage like me. Good Luck Aggie
  2. Don't worry about the dates, or the back movement of status. Mine did the same thing. Don't believe everything you see on E-Benefits , sometimes their wrong. Mine did the same thing, then a few months later Bang it was done. So, don't worry about the movement. Semper FI
  3. Actually, I had already received 90% and all C&P exams had been completed. The reason my claim continued was because of my left eye being blind and had other issues with it and they weren't certain how to rate the eye. But when it was moved to Nashville there they rated me at 100% P&T which closed my claim within a couple of months . Good Luck, Please don't hesitate to ask me for any other information. I'll be more than happy to try and answer any questions you might have.
  4. The same thing happen to me. Mine was sent to Nashville from LA, and sure enough it was a good thing. My claim in LA had been on going for almost 3 years, and once it was moved to Nashville I had a rating within 3 months. Hope your's gets done soon. Good Luck.
  5. When I went to see the SSD doctor, I waited for over 1 hour and a 1/2 , and I carried a 8 inch thick binder with VA and Civilian medical records. When I was finally called in to see him, he said he didn't have to see my documents, so I figured he had a copy of them, which he didn't, and he didn't care to overlook mine copies either. Anyway, the entire meeting lasted a whooping 5-7 minutes. A few weeks later I received a letter telling me I was denied for SSD. That's when I decided to go with Binder and Binder, and several months later I had a court hearing with a SSD Judge. He told me that he was approving me for my benefits, and I would get my verification letter in the mail within 2 weeks, which I did. Man was I happy, because it was such a stressful time for me. I sure hope your experience isn't as bad, or as long as mine. Good Luck.
  6. Semper Fi ,,,,,,Devil Dog. Have a great New Years.
  7. She's lucky it wasn't me. I would have ripped her a new tamale. Anyway, I'm glad you had a good attitude, because a few of us wouldn't take that type of abuse regardless wether she's having a bad day or not. As far as I'm concern, that's not good patient care. Hope everything works out ok for you, and thank you for your service.
  8. Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Years too you my brother as well.
  9. I was stationed in Camp Lejeune from 1976 through 1979, and did drink the water, and do suffer from many health issues. My question is, how many of us haven't been exposed to toxic elements at some point in our careers while in the Military, and I don't think that being exposed and soaked in chemicals and dying from diseases from chemicals are two different issues here. This topic here is about people that drank contaminate water not about being soaked in chemicals, what chemicals? I feel that if someone was soaked in deadly chemicals and suffer from that, then you should have that well documented, and able to prove to the VA that you suffer from such health issues and the VA would find in your favor and you would be compensated, if not then you didn't get sick from being soaked in chemicals. This water contamination is no joke, and a lot of people have died from it. I for one am at 100% P&T by the Marine Corps for my Service Connected disabilities, and that's because I was able to prove my case, and very well documented in my health record, not just talked about it. If your'e sick and dying from diseases because you were soaked in chemicals prove it, and I hope you get compensated for it. Merry Christmas :-)
  10. Very Nice. Congrats, and Merry Christmas, and happy New Years to you , and your family as well.
  11. Congrats on your recent win sir. You deserve every % you were awarded. Take Care, and God Bless. Semper Fi.. Aggie.....
  12. As for me, I decided to take part B, because it's really only $100 a month, and I just rather be safe then sorry later down the road. Plus, I like the fact that I can chose my primary doctor, because sometimes it's hard to deal with the VA. Only my opinion. Aggie
  13. No it doesn't mean that. You will get retro back dated to the date you filed your claim.
  14. J, you are absolutely right about the SSA Vocational expert. They are hard core , and Bad Blood for sure. Aggie
  15. navy04, I am a 100% P&T rated veterans with DV plates on one of my cars, and I also get some looks sometimes when I park in Disables parking, but when they see that I'm retired from the Military the majority of them come and shake my hand and thanked for my service. Honestly most of the time I do not park in the disable space, and i walk, unless I'm having a bad day. So don't feel bad about walking or parking in a disable space. You earned it.
  16. Maset, Sorry to hear that you are having so many health problems along with family issues. One thing for sure is that I know you are a survivor, and I know with the faith you have, is all that's needed to get through these difficult times. I've been there before my friend. I was injured while in the Military where I lost my left eye sight, plus so many other medical problems, after being in the Military well over 25 years I felt that my life was over and coming to an end, but, with the help of my wife, and me finding help from doctors all over, I knew that my life would change for the better. Well after struggling for over 3 years I found that my problems were only temporary, and thank God and many prayers later my life did change, of course I went to the VA and attended group counseling which was hard for me, because the other veterans had different issues, and a lot were just clowns, and I couldn't handle it, so I stop going. Shortly after I enrolled in college and began to meet new friends that didn't know my military pass. Now, I been there going on three years, of course I still take all my medications, but I found a way to deal with my issues, and I didn't make it obvious to my new friends that I suffered from my pass military issues. maset, all I can say buddy is this, if you feel that the VA is not helping you or you just don't feel comfortable with them, go out and seek another health provider and get the help you need. Remember this my friend, there were times while in the military when we had to make decisions without any other involved because we felt that it was our choice to make, so make it my friend, and do it for you, not anyone else. Feel free to get back to many with any other questions you may have, and may the lord bless you with the health and peace of mind that you deserve. Thank you for your service to our beloved country.
  17. GlassRose, First, let me the first to Congratulate you. Job well done. Secondly, If this was me, I would leave things alone lol, with the VA you never know what could happen second time around. When I received my 100 P&T yea there were things that I didn't agree with, but, I didn't want to seem ungrateful, so I decided to live with their decicion. I'm getting a bit to old to spend another year or so with the pressure and stress once again. Anyway once again congrats on your win. Now just relax and enjoy your retirement. Semper Fi Aggie
  18. Dfas website is the site that Active Duty and retirees use to see their active duty pay, or retired pay, also this site is used to get their copy of their monthly earning statement. Just go to the DFAS site and create a user ID and Password. It's almost like signing on to E-Benefits Hope this helps. Aggie.
  19. They are good. I've been with them since 1979, and I have never had a problem with them.
  20. conia, in my case, I was injured in the Military while on active duty in 2007, and in 2010 I retired from the Military. Shorty after retiring I applied for SSD and after 1 year I was approved, and was automatically sign up for Part A, and Part B, and I was told by the Tri-Care that I was required to accept part B, because it would become my primary for Tri- Care and it was a requirment. So, I believe that it might be different for different people, because of their current health care status. Thank you for your service, and God Bless. Aggie
  21. Thanks guys for your replys. Well, I don't know what to think. My house was appraised at $750.000 back in 2007. Then in 2008 it was reappraised again and it was only worth $335.000 where it sits now. So, I don't think it's going to make a big difference for me. I'll just sit back and let them do their job. I just don't want it to become another VA type ordeal. I don't think I can handle another couple of years of waiting and pulling my hair over a few Dollars. Anyway, guys thank y'all so much. Good Bless Aggie.
  22. I just have one question. When filing for a property tax exemption, do they exempt you from the day you first filed your claim and found to be at 100%, or do they go by the effective date on your award letter? Thanks in advance. God Bless..... Aggie
