Question

Mr j is currently being seen at the va Florence outpatient office.Mr j is being treated for ptsd.mr j last employment was in 2002 due to his post trauma stress disorder stressors and trigger he was unable to maintain gainful employment.I do receive ssdi for ptsd only.will this letter help along with my orther evidence.It was written by my va LMSW.thank you.

It should. Check your LMSW's clinical notes and see if they note unemployable in there. They should. Your SSDI, for PTSD only, should make you TDIU or 100%.

I would request an increase for your PTSD and also TDIU, although technically, a TDIU claim is a request for an increase. jmo

I would think the letter would help a lot... especially since it says you were unable to maintain gainful employment DUE TO...

and especially since they don't just state "veteran reported that..."

If the letter stated "veteran reported that..." they aren't really offering an opinion - they are just stating what you reported. Since they didn't say that -- it is more that they are offering an opinion that you are unable to maintain employment due to the condition.
