Moderator brokensoldier244th Posted November 25, 2013 Moderator Share Posted November 25, 2013 Yes. You have to request a physical copy, or you can go into the VA RO and ask to see it. Id opt for the physical copy. ONce you receive it, date stamp the folder or something so you know what iteration of it you have. Then, you can do your OWN research on your conditions, whats in your file, and you'll konw what is in there and what isn't. I would also opt to digitize the whole thing as PDF. Kinko;s or similar can do this for you. Also, on Ebenefits you can request your 201 file also, as a PDF. its good to have around to refresh your memory of times/dates, etc for service tours and locations. usdart
Ebenefits says that I have to Write to the Records Center but does not provide a form or address. I cannot find how to copy my C-File from the RO. Sorry if I am difficult, it is a big jump from a dial phone to a computer for me.
Moderator brokensoldier244th Posted November 25, 2013 Moderator Share Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) NP, Dart. Just fill out 21-4138 and say you want t copy of your C-File and send/fax/scan to your RO. Thats all you have to do. I have a few free faxes left in an account that you can use if you want. Just download a 21-4138 (or just type up your request, you don't really have to use the specific form, even) and Ill give you the log in and PW for my account. Its a free/throw away account that I don't use often. You can PM me later for details if you like. You can also sign up for Ebenefits and upload documents through there, too.
