Especially since you were given a rating by the VA. Your rating won't be reduced by law, they only opt to increase if you qualify. That right there probably takes a lot of the worry out of whether you should or not. You don't have to wait. I know a lot of vets afraid of the VA taking away what they have, and have given up on their benefits. meghp0405 Posted December 29, 2013 Share Posted December 29, 2013 that procedure was put into place many years ago. The DOD has instituted a review of each military member that was discharged with a 20% or less. This was prompted after several complaints from the military members that were being put out from Fort Lewis, Washington. Again, after many, many complaints, the DOD has done a review on those put out with 20% or less. I'm just not aware of the status in reviewing those discharges.
