Appeal Info On Varo Pittsburgh

Question

Hi everyone and thanks for your service,

I was flabbergasted yesterday when I received a phone call from VARO Pittsburgh. I have 2 appeals that are 3 years old and counting (April 2011) and I have never spoken with anyone from there. It was someone giving me an update on my claims!!!!!! I thought that it was my brother playing a cruel joke on me but that was not the case. I was so taken back that I didn't even ask for the name and contact info. of the person.

Verdict - they are currently working 2009 appeals so I should sit tight for another YEAR!!!!

Well I wanted to share and hope that this helps others out there that are waiting.

Every little bit of information helps!

Good thing the Secretary is doing everything he can to break the backlog! I think you will be glad that your appeal was filled well before the tidal wave of appeals from FDC and Provisional claims hit the BVA.

For a DRO appeal. What a travesty! I put a DRO appeal in Boston in Nov. 2012.

My claim hasn't moved on ebenifits. I was told it would be a 1 -2 year wait.

Maybe I should have skipped the DeNovo review & went right to BVA. HolyChit !

Anyone who has a claim that has sat for 18 months is well within their rights to obtain a Writ of Mandamus which would cause the VA to rate within 30 days after getting order from Court. There are several Hadit Members who have made the VA move using this option.

My opinion.

Thanks for the input Pete. I never heard of Writ of Mandamus. I'll have to do some research.
