ptsd From Prep For Decision Back To Gathering Evidence, But Here's The Stinker

Long story short, claim is back in Gathering Evidence...

In 2011 I submitted a claim for PTSD... Was denied claim for PTSD and told I had anxiety and thats what I needed to file for.

2013 Filed for Anxiety and this time went to C&P. For previous PTSD claim did not have a C&P

C&P last month notes read that DSM-V criteria I do have Chronic PTSD w/ Occupational and social impairment with reduced reliability and productivity!!!!

So I sent them a letter at the end of August asking if this would go back to my original PTSD Claim or if it woud fall under the anxiety claim of 2013...

I was immediately sent to Gathering evidence and there I have sat...

Any insight as to what they are thinking or might do would be grately appreciated.

Who told you to file for Anxiety? When did you get denied?

Because the VA will only give one MH rating, I think they do us Veterans a disservice in situations like this. It's the "You say po-tay-toe, I say po-tah-toe" routine with MH claims. This sounds like it could be worthy of a CUE and/or a backdated effective date.

PTSD is an anxiety disorder. The DSM-V was released in 2013. I'm no MH expert, but there might have been some changes to the diagnosis rules.

Don't get too worried over checking the daily status of your claim. On ebenefits, mine was never right.
