ptsd Dic Time Limitations

Hello, e4766 here. I've come across a lady whose husband died of Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. Is there a time cap on this? Isn't this one of the presumptives in cancer? He was listed 40% PTSD when he died and of course his benefits died with him. Any suggestiions as how to proceed? She has his C-file and personal records. I'd like to help her as much as I can. What is the primary cause of death and what are any additional conditions listed as contributing to death .on the death certificate?

Was an autopsy done?

Did he have a claim pending when he died and if so what for?

She can substitute herself as the claimant if he had a claim pending and the DIC application should be filed within the first year after death for accrued purposes and for the date of death as the EED if a DIC claim succeeds.
