Crdp Info?

Hello All and can I be given some sort of clarity...Here it goes

I received my brown envelope today and got my rating(60% first claim) and was wondering, after a long conversation with DFAS, is CRDP something that's automatic or is there really something that I have to do on my end to get things rolling. I've read the long wait times for most on here and I do understand the audit portion(to a certain extent) but can anyone fill me in about do's and dont's going forward. Questions:

1) Average wait time(reality not written) on retro for retirees

2) Should I see my first bennies check Oct 1? (Payment start date is Sep 1)

3) As stated in earlier paragraph, talked to DFAS and they haven't received anything as of yet...Anyone know the time of month they receive the new rated people?

Any help is much appreciated...FYI my time frame for your SA

I retired in 2010, and was rated in 2012. Once I was rated it took me around 45-60 to get my retro from the VA. As for your first payment from the VA, I would assume that you would get in on the 1st of Oct. I believe thats how it worked for me.

Thanks for the responses Aggie54 and Berta....I was thinking the same thing since the VA pays a month behind. As for the retro, I'll wait and see lol...I know that in itself is a process but I was just wondering an average based on others. Will keep all posted once things start to post to my account and then tell my whole story/timeline then. Again thanks for the info and I appreciate the responses!
