Question

Hi al,l I just found out today that the VA doc that did My C & P for prostate

cancer residules, is a Neuroligist not a cancer specialist, my IME_IMO doc is. How can I use this if they deny my SC ?

My claim is in the "with the VLJ" stage.

of course wait until the decision is made.

But make sure in the IMO/IME that the doc included his credentials and background. If denied or lowballed, file a NOD and request a personal hearing.

Look on Blue Button once the decision is made (c&p exams not available until after decision). Research the doc and his credentials.

If the C&P is what blew your claim then you can compare the C&P docs credentials to the private IMO/IME's and make your case that your doc is a specialist in the field and the rating was not full and fair since the VA doc was not a oncologist.

This is not un common at all bud. I just had my Scars and Tongue Damage Reviewed by a Heart Surgeon, so what does that tell you. I have had over 30 C&Ps in the last 2 years and 90% were not by specialist. I too had Testicular Surgery and it along with my Crohns Disease was granted SC by a General Doc, not specialist. To me Evidence is Evidence is Evidence regardless of Doc, PA or Nurse, as the VA has the Questions and DBQs listed on the screen with the Check Boxes for the Exam Docs to complete. Good luck
