Question on FDC

Question

I was curious if the VA is supposed to notify a Vet who submits a Fully Developed Claim if they make a determination/decision to treat it like a regular claim?  As I submitted a FDC, and it is back in gathering of evidence (and has been for quite some time) but nowhere does it show additional evidence being requested.

Thanks

Green

That status wont change your Claim, as I have had multiple FDCs over the last few years, and all went back and forth more then one. My recent claim was at Prep for Decision phase for almost 2 months, then back to Gathering Evidence, and in the end they just wanted the VA Exam Docs to clarify their opinions. Good luck and keep us posted

Regardless of the type of claim, the VA will not accept your evidence directly from either your records and/or your doc. They will need to go back to your doctor and/or look in your medical records to verify the medical evidence. If your evidence is from a non-VA doc, they might require you to send a release of medical information authorization at some point, unless you have already done so. It is pretty common for FDC's to enter gathering evidence status to some degree.
