kent101
I discovered I have a gene that makes it 7x less likely anti-depressants will work for me. I tried antidepressants and they didn't work. I'm just going to give that information to my C&P examiner next time I have an exam. What will they do since meds aren't working for me? https://www.snpedia.com/index.php/Rs2032583 https://www.snpedia.com/index.php/Rs4675690 https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn10240-genes-reveal-likely-response-to-antidepressants/

0 Moderator broncovet Posted July 12, 2017 Moderator Share Posted July 12, 2017 Obviously, this means you will have to seek a treament for depression "other than" medications. Here are a few to choose from: 1. Talk therapy. Some people get relief when someone will listen to their problems. VA offers this. 2. Nutritional therapy. One nutritionist suggested our brain is not deficient in "prozac", but we might not have enough Vitamin D, selenium, lithium, vitamin C, or other vitamans and or minerals, some of which may not even have been invented yet. There are 23 amino acids, for example, and your body can not make all of these. 3. Exercise therapy. More than one person claims exercise helps with depression. 4. Herbs. I found out that in Germany, doctors prescribe "St. John's Wort", a plant, for depression, for example. There are other herbs used to treat depression. 5. There are a whole host of others, too, many of which are not mainstream. A few examples are Acupuncture, Chiropractic, magnetic therapy, Yes, doctors almost always prescirbe "pills" but did you know that Pharmaceuticl companies fund medical schools, and that more people are killed by adverse medication reactions from prescription drugs than by guns?
