TRICARE info

Question

I didnt know where to put this-

about an hour ago a TRICARE member of my church asked me for a Tricare # because her recent medical bill was rejected by Tricare and the Doc's office said they said she was not eligible anymore.

I searched for some Tricare #s but she suddenly called me back and had found this number on their 2017 ECHO pamphlet:

-866-773-0404

The man confirmed she and her husband (Mil Ret) are certainly still eligible for Tricare is changing their data base and the claim will eventually  go through.

These changes do not seem to be too radical to any Tricare vet and family but here they are:

Berta, not knowing all the facts, I'm going to punt a possible answer. Starting in 2018, some of the Tricare regions are now using different carriers. It's possible that she meant that she has to submit her new bills to the new carrier. Additionally, it's possible the new carrier will require the member to change or reinstate their old PCM.

I agree but this was with the same previous carrier  that Tricare paid in the past. The man at Tricare seemed to suggest if the bill is resubmitted it will go through.

I finally found via google about 20 Tricare phone numbers but at the bottom of the Tricare page it said many numbers from beneficiaries will have a long wait time and this  notice was dated 1-2-2018 so I assume because of the Tricare changes in the link, many were quite concerned and had the same problem she had.
