Scam targets disabled veterans and others

Question

Ben Krause has an article on this today but this is the link to the info he had:

https://www.law.com/dailybusinessreview/sites/dailybusinessreview/2018/01/18/broward-firm-sues-company-charging-disabled-vets-168000-in-exchange-for-12000/?slreturn=20180101083541

About maybe 8-9 years ago there was a similar scam, whereby a company would make a lump sum payment to a veteran based on their VA comp rating.

We actually got questions here from members who were interested in this....the scam's premise was the company would determine a lump cash sum to give to the vet, because in some way they would recover that money from the veteran's comp or VA pension checks.

The VA has made so many veterans desparate, and even homeless, throughout the long claims process, that VA itself has enabled these rip off artists, to target veterans who can barely get by as it is.

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
