0 Berta
There is a lot more to this story: https://www.disabledveterans.org/2018/03/13/veterans-home-gunman-wanted-revenge-expulsion-ptsd-program/ and another case of where someone (his brother) could have contacted the Police and didn't. GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University ! When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we." Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
0 Moderator broncovet Posted March 13, 2018 Author Moderator Share Posted March 13, 2018 This is a case of "treatment" being worse than the disease. By expelling the Vet, they angered him..rendering him homeless. While this Vet needs to be accountable for his behavior, there may have been alternate punishments that would invoke less wrath. More importantly, the VA needs to be held accountable for VA employees behavior. Vets are EXTREMELY Frustrated with VA. As they should be. No other agency "gets away" with the stuff VA gets away with and then covers it up, with no repercussions for employees involved. Its way worse than the military. The only surprise for me is that this kind of thing does not happen more. It will be back to "business as usual" for VA, soon. I do think Shulkin is trying to clean up the VA. It was his undersecretary who altered his email which led to this current scandal. The VAOIG is more than just useless..it enables Va to do what they do as they know the Keystone cops (VAOIG) will permit it. Its like having your brother as the sheriff.
