Does Attorney get paid first on RETRO?

Question

When an award is made and the amount deposited into a Veteran's bank account is that the amount remaining after the Attorney has already been paid his agreed upon cut of the award amount?

@Wayne TX - Just one suggestion, since I have no expertise with attorneys in this situation. Check the agreement you signed upon starting the journey with your attorney. The criteria for that agreement will be in the document. - binding agreement.

No.  My attorney got paid "well after" I did.  I know because she owed me some of that money back, because she collected EAJA fees..which were returned to me by the lawyer...it was about 6 weeks after I got paid.
