CAVC Precedent Setting Decisions

Rate this question

Question

I found this document while searching for other information and wanted to share it.   I don't know if it was here already or not.  I did a search but nothing came up.

It is PDF document created but the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) with a list of precedent setting decisions on appeals.  The last revision was January 2010  but there is a wealth of information in this document that I think could be of great use to everyone here.

That's a pretty good list and I like they layout, but it is a shame there is not a more current version posted for public consumption.

Here's a pretty good alternative: http://www.veteranslawlibrary.com

This a good site as well:

http://www.uscourts.cavc.gov/

and

https://www.va.gov/OGC/ their years of Precedent Opinions are on the right by year, and

M21-MR-

( I dont have the updated link)

M21-1MR, in the areas where they determine claims ratings, etc often cites US CAVC opinions.

There is always the chance that thy denied a claim and then cited an opinio in the decision, but did not apply it properly.

Also the BVA web site ,if you are searching for a decision for a claim similar to yours ,will also cite US CAVC opinions that controlled their decision.

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
