Additional conditions to supplemental

Question

I am waiting for a decision letter to arrive in the mail.  I suspect the it will be a denial.  I intend to send in X-ray reports that I did not have when I submitted my claim.  These will confirm my arthritis with pain 10% claim for multiple joints.

Can I add additional joints that I did not put in this claim to the supplemental?   The additional joints are shown on these new x-ray reports.  Or will I have to file a new claim?

I would think the new joints on the x-rays should raise an inferred issue but the VA is not good for these type of connections.

This is for psoriatic arthritis so it should be easily SC once I get the claimed condition in front of the RO.  I messed this up from the beginning.  I am trying to find the most efficient route to get the additional joints connected as they will take me from 90 to 100%.

As far as I know, if you have filed for the additional joints in the past then you use a supplemental, otherwise it will be a new claim.

If the x-rays did not come from the VA or VA Mission Act referrals, be sure to send a release of medical information authorization form. Otherwise the VA will get your claim, send you that form for you to sign and send back, which can waste time.

Apply for those new joints now.  Dont wait, unless you have too much money and the banks no longer accept deposits from you as they are completely full of your money.

The earlier you apply, the earlier your effective date can be.

You may be suprised that you were not denied.  While x ray evidence is important, the most important are always the Caluza elements:  diagnosis, in service event and nexus.
