Tyra
My daughters' father passed January 19 2012. He was a disable vet. I am not sure what he's percentage was but would to know if she is eligible for he's benefits?
0 Richard1954
In most cases a veteran must be rated 100% at the time of his death or die from a service connected disability for survivors to receive benefits. If the veteran was retired from the military and if he paid for survivor benefits the spouse would be entitled to benefits from the military. There are other rules concerning survivor benefits, but these are the basic rules, You would need to contact the VA, explain that he died, and that you want information concerning benefits for his child. 0 Moderator broncovet Posted February 5, 2020 Moderator Share Posted February 5, 2020 We would need to know more information to know if she were eligible. If he died of a SC condition, then she should be eligible. OR if he died of any condition AFTER he was rated 100 percent P and T for 10 years, she should be eligible. As always, the VA loves to make it complicated: https://www.va.gov/disability/dependency-indemnity-compensation/
