Submitted IU request, a NOD is coming a week later?

Question

It hasn't arrived as the status updated yesterday. I find it strange that movement happened so quick. I had attempted for IU in 2018 but was denied. Has anyone recently had this happen in the last few months?

I have a total comp of 140% but the math brings it down to 90%.

We dont know what your outcome will be, whether tdiu will be awarded, denied or delayed.  You will have to wait for the envelope.

If you are asking "how long", the VA will take "exactly" how long they want to, and not one second earlier.  I have heard of claims being awarded in just as little as a month, or many take years, or even decades, like mine.  I applied for tdiu in 2002, the VA never bothered to adjuticate until 2009, and I finally won it on appeals in 2017.  Even then, I had to appeal the effective date, which was finally awarded in March 2020.  That is 18 years.  And mine is not the oldest.  Not by far.

If you are awarded tdiu, consider filing an appeal on the effective date back to your original 2018 claim date.

Thank you. I managed to speak to someone and they said it was neither approved nor denied and the packet would explain everything. I'll post an update.

That is amazing that you got back dated 18 years. I'd imagine that lump sum was quite validating!
