HadIt.com Elder Testvet Posted October 13, 2005 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 13, 2005 they should just stop the death payment, it would not affect anyone that much, then people would not be expecting SS to pay expenses when they die, many people assume that the death payment covers the funeral, I don't know when the last time anyone got buried for 255 dollars but I am sure not since at least 1950.
