Question

can someone answer me this question .today i got a letter from my local va

and it states as follows .we are still processing your application for COMPENSATION

we aplogise for the delay you will be notified upon compleation of processing.

what does this mean for me? this letter was dated feb20 07

Everyone gets one of those (form letters) every few weeks when a claim or appeal is filed. Some here have said you get one everytime the claim moves, but I have no proof of that. I think I got 3 in a 9 month waiting period.

fyi i had help from my local A.L.

Mark, my experience is the same as Cavman's. If I didn't have any receipt for my claims filing, I'd save the "processing letters" just to prove the VARO actually received my claim.

I received two of these during last 2 -3 months-

the claim had moved first to a specialist then to a rater-

Prior to that I got one about 3 years ago.

I believe that movement of the claim triggers them to send out these form letters.

Mark,

The day John recieved his big check we also recieved a letter in a seperate envelope. I figure they send them out to everyone who has a claim.

I wish I had a nickel for every letter like this that the va sent to me.

Mark,

as others have said this is SOP, a form letter sent to all veteans. I think they employ one person at each of the regional offices just to send this letter.

Accept it as proof they have your claim, other wise it is just another piece of paper.
