Presumptive prostate cancer

Rate this question

Dallas Prostate

I am in the burn pit registry and have presumptive prostate cancer. My cancer was discover Feb 2022 and I had my prostate removed July 2022. Under 38 C.F.R., 100% disability will be assigned while cancer is active (Feb 2022 - July 2022) (5 months), and 100% for 6 six months after until a mandatory follow-up is performed. That's 11 months of 100%. Does that mean I will receive 11 x $3106.04? ($34,166.44) and is that paid in a lump sum?

Receive- Yes

Lump sum- some of it- from the effective date to the current date. The amount changed in December, reflected in January's payment 8.7 percent INCR) so going forward your figures are a little off but you get the idea. The pay tables are here: https://www.va.gov/disability/compensation-rates/veteran-rates/
