VA OIG finds VBA has miscalculated some disability payments since 2016. Small errors add up. VBA is working to correct and improve processes. #VeteransBenefits #VACOLA #VeteransAffairs

Thank you for this.  Why am I not suprised?  I have had 4 different ratings, and each and every effective date was wrong, always in the VA's favor.

And, in 2020, I checked the retro amount and it was short..not just a little bit, but off by almost 50 percent..amounting to thousands.  I wrote VA and they corrected it, and sent me the balance owed (thousand of dollars off).

Ronald Regan once said the most dangerous sentence in America is, "Im with the government and am here to help you."

When I go to the grocery store, I memorize all prices in the cart.  And, I review them when I get the receipt.  Kroger gives the item free, when there is a scanning mistake, and I get an item free on average of about once every month or two.  Most people dont check prices, I do.

And, I most certainly check and double check VA's numbers.  There is even a short cut  posted, before.  Example:  If the Cola is 3.2%, multiply your old pay times 1.032.  That should give you the exact number, within a penny that your new pay should be.
