HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted September 23, 2009 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted September 23, 2009 That is not accurate and can be very misleading. I will leave it up but once again I will say that GAF has very little to do with your rating. Medical evidence and proper documentation is the key. The VSO may believe that and guess what. He hurts his clients by passing garbage like that on
darkhorse
GAF is just part of it. I know vets to get 70% or even tdiu with 55 gaf. In your case I would say if your records are representative of your GAF then that's good for at least 70% and possibly TDIU if you can't work. Main thing is what's in your treatment records. dh I receive a e mail from a prior VSO, and He was explaining that this is the rule of thumb not always accurate, but a good relationship to the rating GAF Score 0-40= 100% 41-50=70% 51-60=50% 61-70=30% 81-100=0% My GAF have been 50-46-45-35 How much weight the does C&P have on your rating Edited September 23, 2009 by darkhorse
HadIt.com Elder Josephine Posted September 24, 2009 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted September 24, 2009 My GAf was 40 and was never mentioned. All that was mentioned was my medical records.
darkhorse
I think the VA uses GAF mostly for their convenience if they want to deny an increase but they are supposed to give the IMO's and/or medical history the most weight. In my first rating GAF was never mentioned either. The VA just noted that the evidence supports a 30% rating. That was about it. No specifics. dh My GAf was 40 and was never mentioned. All that was mentioned was my medical records.
