How does a PTSD claim affect my current %?

Rate this question

Question

After waiting months, the VA has scheduled me to visit QTC for my PTSD claim.  I was wondering how it affects my current disability percentage of 70%.  Does it change that % at all or will it just open doors to treatment.  Either one sounds good.

Thank You

Doesn't change your rating of 70% until the outcome of your c&p exam. You will still receive 70%. Hope they approve your ptsd claim. I heard some bad things about QTC docs and the results of their exams. Hope for the best!!

Thank you again for the replies.  I really appreciate it.  The VA was a joke as far as the CPT program they put me in.  Im hoping at the least, this will open some new avenues.

After your C and P is complete, and if they assign you a rating for PTSD, the VA will "combine" your ratings using the VA math, which is not Veteran friendly, its VA friendly.

I looked at benefits and it said my notice was sent and the claim is closed.  I did the trick where you open a new claim and like 5 pages in it will list your service related injuries.  Ptsd was added at 70%.  So what does this mean??? I feel like I'm going to be sick...  Got 70% when i got out, and now this 70% for the new claim...what changes?

Thank you all so far for the help.
