Found more info about new rating... Says my claims are considered total and permanent, and I think I also got some smc or something. Because I'm getting $3714 any ideas? Also they said they sent me a dwvelopent letter what's that mean? And do I get insurance for dependants now? And can I work

Thank you for the info. Unfortunately due to memory problems basically I can't retain anything new as far as education goes. I can't even hold a convo without repeating my self cause I forgot I just told the person the same thing 2 min ago. Stuff comes out but nothing new stays in :(. As far as severity I use a Cain for short periods of walking but for like stores or going to the park with my baby I have to use a scooter the va issued me cause I can't stand for long periods. As far as work I'm not Sure my last employer saw me as a liability but as a political favor for one of my in laws they kept me hired until this claim is final :) thankfully lol. I have lost the lateral gaze on left and right sides all I get is diploma due to sixth nerve palsy and optic neuritous scaring... Diplopia not

Just got a letter from vso stating they just reviewed my claim that is pending notificaton. And the va took favorable actions on my claim and a combined rating of 100% has been assigned. I was given a differed rating of 30% in 2011, so now I need to get the ball anrolling as of what benefits I get because my wife is currently in the hoapital. My questions are as fallows... 1. Do I get insurance for dependants and how do I start it? 2. Is there any special benefits for 100%? 3. Any stipulations regarding still working? I've looked and I get mixed responses.. 4. Do I still pay co-pays on va meds and apps? 5. Pretty much what do I do now lol I'm 29 and have multiple sclerosis and I don't know any local vet friends that are 100% to talk about what's next

Welcome to hadit. Their are many programs and benefits out there for you. The va claims process is a long and rough road. My claim was filed sept 2010 got a differed rating in Dec. 2011. I'm still pending all differed items.... Many vets on here have had claims lasting 5 yrs and such. All you can do is wait. You can request to expedite the claim some people will tell you you can not do this w/o financial hardship I.e. repo of car or utilities being shut off. This is not entirely true. I filed a request to expedite just telling them to hurry they heck up and they sent my claim to what is called in my regional office a special ops team. These are people who can make on the spot rating decisions to help with the claimant backlogs. Or I. Tour case request for financial hardship. But don't get your hopes set to high just because they expedite it doesnt mean it will Definetly move faster, just that it might. Also did you submit your claims with any evidence or just your word of mouth? Also Do you have a veterans service officer helping with your claim? As for ssdi that is just as rough a road have you filed for food stamps/ unemployment? Ssdi once grant has a 5month holding period in which then on the 6th they will release the funds. You got a long road to go but there are thousands of others walking down that path with you.. remember your not alone and keep hanging in there!

Qtc exam not arc lol auto type on phone

My claim was started back in Sept 2010 I got a differed rating in Dec 2011. I got told today that the claim is pending decision approval... Here's the problem... I got a letter stating they were going to schedule more arc exam which they did... For July 30.. how was a decision made but qtc exams still be scheduled? I know what your thinking... They differed a second time.. but the va stated the decision was for all items claimed not just a couple. Has anyone been this before and what's this mean Ty.

Qtc just called me this morning to say that all 9 of my appts have been cancelled because the va failed to provide my medical records within 7-9 days of their request... Even thou today was the 17th day lol. Due to all my appts being in my same pay peroid i cannot reverse my leave days at this point and now im at 0 days. I was wondering if anyone has had this same problem and how long did it take to get rescheduled.

Hello all, I filed a claim with my wifes info on the original claim on sept. 2010. On dec.2011 i was awarded 30%, in the award letter it stated they needed more info for my wife. Sine my original claim i had a baby so i submmited the dependant paper work all over again dec. 24 2011. I got a letter today stateing i won the drpendant claim but the effective date is dec. 1 2011. My question is shoulf i have gotten retro for all the way back to my original date of sept 2010 since the dependant letter was a response to the "need more info" or is this a cue that thedidnt catch that this was not a new claim for dependancy but a response to the award letter. And now they only want to pay back to the day they gpt the new dependant info?

Ok i was contacted by the va in regards to this.. the va s.o. has nothing to do with secret squirel stuff lol every va has one of these teams they are just called different things. In houston office its a team of ops supervisors who can expite or investigate prolonged claims and can even give rateings.

Hey all its me again lol. My claim is at the houston office for18 months now and the 1800 number told me my claim is with the special operations processing team. Yet no one at the 1800 number knew what that means and they told me to call the regional office to find out but when you call them it redirects you back to the 1800 number.... My question is does anyone know what the "special operations claims processing team" is exacttly?? I was told this is not the regular processing team thou.

I have a claim with the houston varo. It took me 14 months to get a differed rateing of 30% for multiple sclerosis. I was told by the rater i shpuld have exams in a few weeks for the rest of my items. 3 months have past with no responses from them there have been several iris sent out that are over 3 months old with no response. They forwarded the iris's to a coach two different times and they wont even respond ti them lol. I contacted my dav national office and they physically went to check my claim and had gotten the run around as well. My claim for depentants has still not been addressed as well... Im at a loss and im not sure what else to do all i need is exams and thats it. If they dont respond to me,their own people, or the dav national rep who would they???

Update on my defered rateing.. they gave me sc@30% for the ms but then put two of my scondaries as part of it i.e. neurological symptoms. Then on all my other secondaries they put the word new in " s dors that mean they are saying its not secondary? But on a good note the rso i spoke with kept her word lol i got mt back pay before christmas... Even though it was short two dependants... I even got it before my award letter!

I was contacted by the actual RSO and they told me they would give me a defered rateing for ms at 30%. And back pay for 15 months. But then she stated i need multiple qtcs for my other contentions and have the doctors say its from ms or being caused by ms or something completely different. Then they also stated that all the other symptoms would have to average out to higher than 30% for an in crease past the defered 30. I was wondering if this is good or bad!!! And is that process even right? Ms alone just for a dx is 30% so if my other 9 items average 30 put together then my rateing stays the same??? Also how long do yall think it will take them to send the back pay lol... Maybe before christmas??? Lol the whos in who ville need a little roast beast lol

After my post yesterday i started haveing new problems with my ms. My doctor is thinking i may have a worse type of ms as first thought ive lost my vision in left eye and instead of my symptoms relapseing then remmiting they are now daily. Is there such thing as emergency tdui? And if so how does one go about this.

Thank you berta for the info. you helped me out before on my other ms post. They were given everything on time. The only delay was that the person doing the review did not look phyically in my file as they should have done. Instead the development team looked in the data base and saw i still had open tracking items that were not updated in the system but the evidence was phyically in the file. I am useing a vet rep but they tell me its basically out of their hands now. And all VCAA letters where answered via mail and phone in on time. As far as submitting new evidence i was advised against this due to the fact a. it will prolong the development. b. it may not help the amount of % vs. waiting then resubmiting for a increase c. It will make the claim more confuseing than need be. I currently have 18 items on the claim all have smr/imo's/hospital evidence attached (all of which are rateable with va diagnostic codes) for primary to ms and residual. I was told to goto my local media by a friends wife. Her husband had a ptsd/depression claim in limbo for 7 months he went to our local news station, i can try to find a link to the news feed, and exactly 3x weeks after the media contacted houston va they gave him a rateing. My guess he got really really really really lucky. Most of the time you hear about things like this and its just hear say but they did a follow up with him and broadcasted the result and letters he got dated 3x weeks after the media contacted them. I do not get ssdi and i currently have a job (barely) so i didnt think i could apply for tdui much less do i know how to. Thank you once again berta :)

My claim has been in development for 10 months. I have made multiple IRIS sent to houston varo.I then keep getting letter stateing that they are unable to answer the IRIS due to overwhelming amount of back log and they do not know when they can get back to me. My latest IRIS they sent me a reply stateing i need to show a connection between service and the ms now for proof of service connection... this does not make sense. MS is a 7yr presumptive, therefore i do not need to make a connection its automatic. Further more they said all my items tracking have been closed and they do not need anymore info to move the case forward but they might contact me if they need more.. wth kind of contradicting statement is that lol. This is an auto-immune diease, and from what ive read i can some how request it to be expedited due to its nature. Claim is in its 13th month and has gone no where, is there something i can due i.e. goto local media/congressman to get things moveing. Sadly i have gotten worse since my last post, and by the time i get this initial claim rated, i will now have to submit for an increase and new residuals. Just need a little bit of advice on what to do. thank you.

Well the csc gave me direct line numbers to my varo and to say the least they were not at all happy but still got what i needed done. i dont think the varo would like me to send them a thank you letter lol as i was not supposed to have been given the direct lines lol

I contacted the new va serice center i think carlie posted. They gave me inter departmental ext's to the houston RSO. When i called this first number on the list i got a nasty how the bleep did you get this number greeting lol. The lady thenlooked in the datbase to see that none of my iris's were there. She then physically pulled my file to find that they were in there that no one updated the system thou. Then i was told my claim was being held up due to a vcaa notice asking for support of claim in the data base. Yet those were physically in my file as well. So she closed the tracking. And they wanted exams for undiagnosed illness, but in my support of claim submitted in begining it stated to changed it to a diagnosed multiple sclerosis. This goes to show since the development team put a note in the system they reviewed the file and need more evidence, that they in fact didnt look at the folder. They just looked at an out of date database then said they pulled the file. Months of me waiting that could have been avoided due to someone being lazy is awfull. One simple phone call resolved this problem even thou the lady was pissed i got her number and was ugghing and agging the whole time she was fixing my file issues. Classic va bs lol.

The term Review is various and vast with the v.a. sad to say lol lengths vary for size and complicity of claims. In my case my file was in "review" for 11 months with no c&p's even being orderd yet. I was told that a review has many phases it must go throu. Mine was in "Developmental Review" then got sent (i know this sounds redundant) to another person to have the "review" reviewed lol. Its the va's way of avoiding the inevitable... doing their job and helping you. Reviewing is a way to slow your file to give people further down the chain to catch up on the file load they already have. Just have to be patient and let the bureacratic river flow your way lol. Try calling them every 30 days or every 2 weeks doesnt matter what ever is best for you. keep a tight leash on them and stay on them. I sent 3 iris's to them asking status on my claim and got a letter back saying they are very back loged and will look into where my file is but they at this time could not give me a time frame that they would be able to respond to the iris lol so the call center rep sent one out just cause she got mad at my RO's response saying it was no sufficient. about 2 weeks later i was told my review was being given a final review.. lol
