  1. I finally got my C-file and was it a mess. there were very few medical records pertaining to my claim. even the ones i sent to them myself were not included. All Va medical records with my diagnoses of parkinsons were missing . To top it off my service and medical records are classified to the point my state senator said she can no longer pursue them for me. Thats right my medical records are classified. at least thats the answer i got. so at this point my file Claim has been on a review officers desk for over a year for the 4th time. I have never been informed by waco tx va of a hearing date even with multiple written requests for me to attend. I did not serve in war time even though i was in during the end of the cold war. and did see some nasty crap. Not sure what to do at this point, the VA claims I have about 5 years of life left at the age of 46. And they do acknowledge that my condition is not genetic in nature and is a result of chemical and or radiation exposure in the military. They were the ones who pressed the issue of me filling for disability. I am lost n living on social security and not much money if any lol.
  2. The va Parkinsons clinic recently published in its last quarterly news letter of 2011, a study linking trichlorethylene to parkinsons. This was done on a study of US Navy twins during and after WW II where one twin was exposed and the other was not. Check the APDA website , not sure of the addy right now i have it on another one of my replies. or posts.
  3. The Va and American Parkinson's Diesease Assoc Have joint clinics in about 6 major Va hospitals in the US. Not everyone in the Va system is either aware of this and some not willing to give referrals. However here is the main link to the clinic HQ, from there you can find the nearest clinic and get an appt set up. Yes they DO PAY Travel pay to those who get it anyway. This has been a god send to me the Houston clinic treats me as an individual and does help with treatment for the long term not just a lil patch and a pat on the back. I do recommend this Va joint clinic to any serve member who has or thinks they have Parkinson's. http://www.reno.va.g.../parkinsons.asp
  4. The American Parkinsons Assoc and the VA Have joint clinics , I believe 6 of them just for Parkinsons. I do know one of them is in Houston TX , This is not a widly known fact in the VA system and some Va dr's wont share this info. You can look up the american parkinson's assoc . or ask Debakey va hosp in houston for info on the clinics. They do pay travel pay to these clinics. Finding and going to the one in houston has been rather helpfull.
