  1. How long after your claim was completed did your back pay hit your account?
  2. Thanks everyone. I am currently employed but going to file for disability retirement
  3. Carlie, I was just trying to look for what additional benefits I am eligible for now. I can't seem to find it anywhere on the VA website. Do you have a link or know where to look? Thanks!
  4. Things went pretty quick since my CnP Exam. I just found out today that I was raised from 30% to 70%PTSD and from 10%lumbar Spine to 40%Lumbar Spine. My tinitus was denied. Which I have no idea why but it would not change my combined 80% rating anyhow. Finally some good news!

  7. My claim has now moved to the "Preperation for Notification" phase. Was very quick from pendind decision approval to Prep for notification. Should hear somthing soon!
  8. Yea the reason they say the latest is September because the VA is being told that they have to have all year old claims finished by the fiscal year. If your claim falls within that category or cut off date then consider yourself lucky!
  9. Just looked on Ebenefits and my claim has moved to Pending Decision Approval. I called DAV and they said that by they end of the week they should know what my rating is. Pumped! Hoping for an increase from 30% anxiety disorder to 70% PTSD!
  10. I am also SC for Lower back issues. The back can cause issues with many other areas. My ankles swell up a lot as well as my feet. My right leg goes numb all the time. I just put in for an increase but I think its complete BS how they do the exam and rating.
  11. Thanks John, how long did it take for you to start receiving it? Does it take 15 months like normal claims usually do? What did you do for money to survive in the mean time?
  12. Yes currently working but having major issues at work and am in the process of losing my job.
  13. Thanks I just can't help but speculate, guess, and overthink like im sure everyone does.
  14. Hey everyone. So I just had my exam for PTSD. I am currently rated at 30% for anxiety disorder with alchohol abuse with elements of PTSD. I was rated this back in 2009 and since my symptoms have worsened. My doctor told me a long time ago to file an appeal because he diagnosed me with PTSD the first time I met him. Anyways years later and things worse I finally filed. I should mention I do have a CIB and BSM. I was kind of shocked at my appointment. First i didnt sleep for days leading up to it thinking about everything I was going to have to talk about. Then I got there and he didnt really have me talk about Iraq at all. It was weird. Anyways my doc looked at my exam in the computer (hes a nice guy) and he said based on what he sees I should be rated at 70 but could be 50. It was a PTSD diagnoses with severe depression and anxiety. I was given a GAF of 50 which im never above 48 according to my doctor. He checked the box that would indicate 70% just the one below 100% where it gives the description. What do you think I should expect. The GAF at 50 kinda scares me. Thanks
  15. Yea I Just checked Ebenefits, even though I put in a fully developed claim it originally said my average completion date would be May13-Aug13....Now it says Oct13-Mar14.......Considering I just keep getting letters saying were still working on your claim and no C&P Exam yet I would guess I won't know til next year. Gotta love the system
  16. Thanks everyone. I am on a boat load of medication too (not opiates anymore thank lord) but they really don't seem to help with my issues. Life is much different and it sucks. I have a 9 month old son and I love him to death but its hard for me to just deal if you know what im saying. Everything from the depression, anxiety, and anger make things so hard. I try so hard too, but sometimes i will just get up and leave work. Without saying or thinking anything of it. Im just like F it and I know i cant do that because I have to provide. I just wish things were how they used to be, but that will never happen. Ok im done sobbing like a lil Biatch but hopefully they realize my struggles and give me more than 30% for anxiety disorder with alchohol abuse. Thoughts, Comments? Thanks
  17. If anyone could apply I would greatly appreciate it. It is just one of those days........
  18. Good morning and thank you all for the help in advance. Before I jump in and ask my questions I just want to give a little background. I am an Iraq Combat Veteran. I have a Combat Action Badge and a downgraded bronze star to an ARCOM. Anyways when I got out in 2009 I filed my claim for PTSD and Back injury which occrued during an IED strike. I went to my CP exam and told them most things, but not alll as I didnt want to talk about. I told them about engaging the enemy and killing them. Told them about the IED strikes, but I did leave a lot of stuff out. I was rated 30% anxiety disorder with alchohol abuse and signs of PTSD. I was also rated 10% for lumbar spine Disc Disease. I tried living through the pain for a couple years. Eventually the VA gave me vicodin. Then they gave me oxy. Then the real problem started. For about 3 years I was a full blown addict to pain pills. I realized not only did it help my back but it numbed my thoughts and emotions. I eventually checked myself in and detoxed at the VA. Even tho I am clean I still have major issues at home and am on the verge of losing my job, luckily they will send me back to my old job so I wont be completely out of a job. I have been speaking to my PTSD doctor weekly now and have confide in him the things i originally left out of my initial CP exam. He said I should be rated at 70% for PTSD and that he has no clue what the doc who did my first exam was thinking. So I filed for an increase for the anxiety disorder, filed for PTSD, Increase in Back, and Tinitus because originally no one told me what that was. I filed in November. What should I expect? Thanks a lot everyone.
