  1. Thanks Rogers, I still cannot guess when I will be scheduled for a C&P. I read part of M21 and I am not smart enough to figure it out.

I need some plain english translations.

If you are trying to figure out when they will schedule your C&P I'd suggest learning M-21 which, if I recall correctly, is a step by step guide advising the VA employee as to what to do next.

We recognize that your claim has exceeded the estimated completion date and remain committed to completing our review as quickly and accurately as possible.

    Thank you for your patience.

  4. I read that the VA is claiming 93% of claims older than 1 year are done. They do not address the percentage of FDC claims finished.

I also read that 400,000 claims are backed up in the system.

Is it me or do these numbers sound funky?

Anyone know what is really going on?

Spinning the numbers to stay out of trouble does not help Vets. I wish they would put down their crooked pencil and get to the real work.

I am getting nervous here because Ebennies has had me in 'Review of Evidence' and 'Evidence Requested is past Due' for 3 months. The past due is just the 5103 which if you look at evidence recieved it shows it arrived in Aug 2013. So these are conflicting Satus's (or whatever it's called/spelled).

  5. When you add Politics to anything you always come out with Crap. Unfortunately I understand Politics better than I ever did. Unless you contribute to a campain you have no real voice.

    VA+ Politics= ????

Hopefully there are a few real people employed with the VA that have not been run off or forced out. That is who is overworked, underpaid and stressed out.

  6. I think they are going to fast track all the FDC claims (they can) using a low award to move us into Appeal.

Politics of this is not looking good for them.

There will be alot of claims that will need more 'Evidence' or other info that will have to move slower. There is nothing preventing them from changing policy based on demand and load. All this is just a gut feeling, it may be someting else, or just re-fried beans causing my gut to talk.

  7. Main thing is to address the anger or anything that is causing a decreased quality of life for you; if you have issues related to service, ask for treatment to deal with them, including counseling.

This can help you now and later.

We're rooting for you dart!

Thank you for caring..I usually avoid any contact with anyone. But the VA is important so I must participate. There are times when I get tired of submitting and being fed crap sandwiches though.

Just made another appt with my Syc which is hard for me to do. Always emotional and I hate that!

  8. I had an argument with my VA Nurse 'millie'. She refused to fill out a 1 page form by saying 'she did not have time to sit around and do paperwork all day'. This was after I was told to make an appointment to get it done, which I did. I was angry and asked her why she did not have time to do her job. She kept trying to send me 60 miles away to get someone else to fill out the paperwork that had to be signed by my Doctor. So three trips down to the VA and she won't do it.

I was reading my VA health History on myhealthevet and she wrote that I kept yelling at her. I did not, I was insistent though. I finally asked to have a different Nurse and Doctor assigned. This was done. But, now this crap is in my record.

I have applied for PTSD and they should be aware of this. My Psy tells me I have anger issues and to read Chapter 6 in the PTSD Book which I did. Not much help that I could find.

Can I write a response and have it entered on record, or should I let it go and move on?

Is not anger part of PTSD?

I threw the form away in anger so I don't remember what the number was. It was about linking high blood pressure to PTSD.

  9. Been waiting since March on an FDC for an upgrade on Sinusitis and new claims for Hearing loss, Tinitus and PTSD. I was told by my Rep that FDC claims are just 4 months or so. We have blasted past the 'or so' point. I try to tell myself no news is good news because if it were bad news they would be very quick to let me know. I know I will have some C&P exams too at some point and then I get to hurry up and wait again.

  10. You CAN call them and ask. I talked with a real person yesterday named Linda and she was VERY nice and we went over my entire file.

The tough part is navigating the 1-800 number to get to a person. I forget what all the options are but, I do remember choosing the 'rotary phone' option and answering questions from there.

I also remember choosing to have a Rep call ME back and they did so within a half hour.

By the way mine started in March and I am still 'under review' Linda said this is the longest part.

  11. The VA doctor is the one who diagnosed PTSD. I have not been to any other doctors on this. I have a history with the VA system going back to 1984 on Hearing, and had surgery on my ears and sinus at the VA. I believe I will have a C&P on most or all of this crap. No, big deal, just another hoop. Hearing, tinitus, sinusitis, PTSD will probably all get me a C&P for each regardless what Linda said. Probably very rare to not have one.

  12. usdart, did the regional office change temporary for your claim? Mines did with the same info you received but when I called, I asked what was needed since it went back to gathering evidence and it showing requested evidence not received, the rep said that she showed it was in the rating phase....however, good luck to you all.

No, the RO is the same , Seattle. She said they just did not remove the 'evidence requested is past due' yet. She looked through my file and said everything was there so it should move to the next phase. She also said that gathering evidence takes the longest time.

She also mentioned that they do not always require a C&P if all the evidence they need is there. A C&P may be needed for some parts which will slow those in the system. Beats me if any or all of mine are going to need a C&P or not. I suspect the hearing test and the PTSD will.

  13. I was able to talk to a real person!

Linda tells me this was the 5103 letter and they had recieved it back in Aug. So there is nothing they are waiting on.

So I am back in waiting mode instead of panic mode.

Man they are slow..15 months for the average claim and any interuption puts you from FDC to regular in line. So far I am still in FDC mode.

  14. Since I cannot reach anyone by phone or in person I went to Ebenefits and wrote a question for them to answer. Probably will not help/work but I have to try everything.

I asked them to explain 'requested evidence overdue'.

    What do they need?

I asked them who they requested the info from?

I also asked them if I had not recieved a notification maybe?

What can I do to help move this along?
