  1. Loose Cannon

No one will crucify you here. Now lynching is another matter. What is your neck size?

    Dot

I have had words twisted beyond all recognition by C&P doctors. If the VA ever goes on budget cutting spree we will all see how they can do the twist.

Thank you for inviting me to the 'NECKTIE' party but, it so happens I am swamped up to my a** and just too busy. Start without me and maybe I will just be a little late?

  2. Me........confrontational? Well, perhaps at times. I often feel pushed around and crapped on. This might be part of my problem, or it might be world full of idiots. The question is A: My Problem or B: World of idiots. I don't want to step on your post, Dart, since I know you are looking for help.

    John

No way Man, confrontational is reserved for those who do not care. Crapped on gives you free license to help others of like experiances. Not sure who the 'idiot' here is,. more and more I am told it is me.

  3. My two cents and I said this before--

My experience with the team of VA professionals helping me with my PTSD issues have been stellar! From the very first encounter when I walked myself into the ER for help has saved my life and given me a different perspective. In no way am I saying they cured me but they sure have helped. I think there are times when we try to connect the VA claims process with the VA healthcare system and that's not necessarily fair.

If you don't feel comfortable with your current doc you should seek another. The important thing is to STAY in treatment...JMHO.

    LC

She is the only game in town. I already changed my Regular Health Team after I got sideways with the old one. It must be ME that is the problem and I struggle mightily to do and say the right things. I wish I could give up and just go away somewhere and live alone. I would if I had the $$ to escape. Problems at work and home and everywhere I go tells me it is ME. I am desperately trying to cope and no one seems to really want to help and they COULD. I don't know how they could (or I would do it) but they could at least be honest and forthright with me. I have no friends except here on this board. The folke here seem to be for the most part in a similar condition and really understand.

The help I need is here more than the VA.

  4. You are a young grasshopper so I won't say much about your post. You must be a young grasshopper to say what you said about "Why avoid people". That is one of the main symptoms of PTSD.

I did not want to be appear confrontational with anyone so I didn't say what you did to this nice person. Anyone who knows PTSD symptoms should already know this. Maybe reading a little would help before we respond or advise. Please do not think I have a problem with anything ANYONE says. I appreciate very much the feedback and conversation.

  5. I read my VA shrink's notes. She seems like a nice lady. However, I read the report and I see "good eye contact, well groomed, speech is logical , no agitation etc". This is after I complain about not being able to sleep and having nightmares. I think linking our shrink sessions to compensation does poison out relationship. This is why I get real therapy from private shrink. He has no ax to grind and everything I say will not be used against me.

I wish I had the $$ for a private shrink.

The reports I read are very similar to yours, good eye contact, dressed appropriately, logical etc. All this after I told her I was having trouble finding words to describe the answers She asked. I also told her I was extremely nervous when talking to even Her! None of this was noted in my file. This is selective editing of our sessions.

  6. What is the part that you did not want noted? Those are reliable facts for any doctor to learn about your health. What was "out of context"?

What freedom are you afraid of losing?

    Why avoid people?

It does not help your case to hide in a corner and not communicate to build trust.

I had already discussed all my ailments so she KNOWS how my health is. We also went over my mental problems and She has me reading the PTSD work book. If I had said I was in good health because that moment I felt OK, She would have noted I was OK without a disclaimer that it is not my normal state. I have heard they will take over your finances, take your guns, and who knows what else the Goverment can do these days.

It may not help my case to hide and avoid, but, I feel better alone. My feeling good is so rare that I protect it the way that is best for me. I don't give a darn about people even if they "can Help" they don't really care. It chaps my hide when people are sneaky and underhanded for thier own pourposes.

Not everyone thinks like you do, so I hope this helps explain my tiny brain.

  7. My 3rd vist with the VA Psych and about 3/4 of the way through it and she asks "so how is your health? Pretty good?

    My resonse was

'you mean other than nightmares, sleep apnea, ear aches, tinitus, headaces, acid reflux, and emotional problems?'.

Good thing I read somewhere to be careful how you resond to these folks. They write everything you say down and sometimes 'out of context'. I was begining to be comfortable with her, now that's gone, like everyone else she is the same as all the others. Never trust anyone and avoid people every time you can.

I am really bummed out now because I am sure she is not trying to help ME, but trip me up and make me say things I should not. I am afraid to tell the total truth to anyone, They will take my freedom away or other terrible things and cause me more harm than good.

I told her I hate word games and hate arguing or debating and avoid these at ALL costs. I will agree, fold or leave everytime.

Thanks Veterans Administration for adding to my troubles and causing me to do everything I can to avoid people and be anti-social.

  8. This is hard to explain or believe, but, it happened two different times.

While I was right clicking my mouse to copy and paste things from Ebennies to Hadit I noticed some extra info that did not show up. Meaning, just reading on the site page of Ebennies it did not show that my File was sent to Phoenix. It was obviously there but did not appear. But, when I copied that info and then pasted it here it showed up.

This is the second time this has happened. If I had not copied and then pasted I would not have known this info.

I marked this in RED below as the missing text.

Very strange and makes me wonder if others are missing vital info this way. Maybe just Dinasaur me and my old pre-historic computer..just don't know.

  9. Thank you..

I am trying to find out if the C&P is done at which level of the eight. My claim is at Review of evidence and I would like to find out if the C&P is done before this level or during. Or possibly the claim will be kicked backwords for some of the claims and an decision made on others.

    I have 4 things I applied for.

If this confuses you then join the club, I don't know what the heck they are doing.

  10. Just checked Ebennies this Morn and it shows my file Has been moved to Phoenix from Seattle.

Seattle is my RO so I am guessing they farmed me out due to backlog in Seattle.

I am taking this as a good sign that maybe there will be some activity since I have been at 'review of evidence' for 6 months.

    Any thoughts?

You must have enough for VA DX of PTSD since you were in a place dangerous enough to get your thumb shot.  Was your basecamp ever attacked in any way including snipers, mortars, rockets, ground attack etc?  I am sure you have more than enough for PTSD DX and compensation.  By the way, I was at an small army airbase that had 155 Howitzers and 105's as well.  The 155's were the loudest thing I ever heard, especially when they fired them over us to get to some target.  We did worry about short rounds.  Are you deaf? What hearing protection did you use?

A buddy of mine got SC'ed for PTSD and his records showed Winter and Summer Offensive 1970.

No hearing protection..We were constantly under attack by all of the above. We moved every 7 days to a new peice of dirt to fire direct support for the 199th Infantry and the 25th. We also had 2 Dusters and 2- 175's. At night we helped break out ammo for the Guns, couldn't sleep with them firing and didnt want to anyway. My son asked me if we recieved fire, I told him only 5 or 6 days a week. We were NOT at a FSB (fire suppot base)but, in the Field for the entire year. I rememeber during Operation Sanctary we fired point blank into the trees to repel a groung attack. Bee hive rounds are amazing. Guard duty and Burial detail were part of my duties as well. Really was a dirty War because we had rules, VC had none!
  12. PS, the new 2010- PTSD criteria is in this post:

    Thank you very much Berta.

I was unable to open the link.

So my answer is NO, that is not enough evidence.

I am in Review of evidence and have been for 6 months. Does this mean they will kick me bacwards and ask for more Evidence?

Case completion is estimated as 01-13-2014 and we are 2 weeks away! Can you speculate as to what is going on? When I called, the Lady reviewed my file and said all evidence was there.

I know that is an estmated time of completion but it seems like along time to wait for a FDC claim based on what I read here.

I know you hear it all the time, but, I am going crazy not knowing what the heck is going on (if anything).

  13. GSW=gunshot wound, SMR's= your service medical records, PH=Purple Heart, BCMR= Board for Correction of medical records. I have little stuff in my records about different offensives my unit was in while I was in Nam. I was in a combat aviation unit.

    John

GSW was treated by Medic in the Field..no record at my request.

SMR's I have no idea what is in them, I have never seen them.

There is alot of Public info on Operation Rockcrusher. A google search will bring it up. I was in the 23rd Artillary Group with them 155 Sp Howitzer unit. I was a Track Mechanic.

  14. You may need to discuss the disgusting, immoral things if you have a c&p exam, so don't hold back. You should tell the exam doctor you were ok before Nam and your problems all related to your Nam experience. You should have got that PH because that would make your PTSD claim a slam/dunk. You could still get it via BCMR, maybe. You have proof of your GSW in your SMR's?

    John

Sorry, I am not up to date on the shorthand. What is GSW,SMR's, PH and BCMR?

  15. Thank you for the reply, Nice to have folks with experiance to talk to.

Without getting into the specifics, it was not the Mission or Combat that continues to haunt me. It was before and afterwards that causes my nightmares and all the bad crap I feel. Some disgusting immoral things occured that I should have tried to stop others from doing. I should have been more forceful in my warning when on guard duty on one night. I turned down a Purple Heart because I was only shot in the thumb. I thought it would be a disgrace to take one with my fellow Soldiers really hurt.

I still don't want one now..so no issue there.

I wake up screeming and I fight so hard when I sleep that I broke both my big toes kicking the wall in the middle of the night. Last time was at my son's house in my Grandson's room. I felt terrible for bleeding all over the place. Both feet are permanantly damaged due to this. My poor Dog won't even try to get in bed with me, poor little guy thinks I kicked him on purpose. Wife sleeps in another room too.

  16. I spoke wih an Attorney and he tells me if the Evidence shows 'boots on the ground' in a Combat Zone and the sressor is an Organized documented Military Offensive then I may not need a C&P. My DD214 shows these items.

The VA psyciatrist wrote in my file about the stressor and connected it to the Viet Nam experience I had in 1970. The DD214 has 'Operation Rockcrusher' written on it with the date. I was in Field Artillary for the entire year in RVN as shown by my DD214.

    Is this enough Evidence?

Does taking a long time to process maybe mean a good outcome?

Are they usually quick when they Deny a claim?

No other 'Evidence was sent as suggested by my Representative. Now I am worried after reading all the posts on here.

Since my VVA Representative is no longer with them I am having doubts about what was sent as 'Evidence'.

He said my DD214 shows that I was in Combat, and my VA Psyc diagnosed me with PTSD with the SC to 'Operation Rockcrusher' in RVN.

It has been 10 months on my FDC and I am at 'Review of Evidence' and it seems to have stalled there.

Sorry to keep bugging you guys.....

  17. Thanks for all the.. support;

I am concerned because the only Evidence my Rep sent was the DD214 which shows Artillary assignments and Operation Rockcrusher (the incursion into Cambodia) participation in 1970 Nam. My VA Physycologist has diagnosed me with PTSD and SC'd to Operation Rockcrusher in my Medical File.

Is this enough evidence for PTSD?

Really worries me that I have NOT had a C&P an am 9 months into this FDC Claim.

  18. actually those dates are not all that ridiculous. In my opinion, I wouldn't trust them dates though. You haven't had a C/P exam for any of your claimed disabilities would be alarming to me. Normally when a claim is in the development phase, requests for c/p exams will be issued and yours is in the review phase? Doesn't sound right to me, but that's my own opinion.

If they are going to decide your claim without a C/P exam, apparently when reviewing your c-file, they determined that you have the sufficient documentation in your file where a c/p exam is not needed. This can go either way, I've seen this a lot.

    Good luck to you!

Yeah, that is what I thought too. C&P 'SHOULD' have been done by now. Only thing I can think of is it was the VA Psycologist that wrote in my file and diagnosed me with PTSD. Question is at what level though. I am pretty sure they plan to low ball me to get another clain 'finished'.

  19. OK, on ebenefits it says my claim should complete 1-13-2014 to 8-17-2014.

I am currently in Review of Evidence and have been there for 5 months.

Ro in Seattle says 12 months average for FDC claims.

anyone think it will be complete in Jan? Partially complete?

Claim is for upgrade for sinusitis, Hearing loss, Tenitus, and PTSD and I have not had a C&P exam for anything.

Maybe we should start a Board and bet on completion dates.
