  1. 10% tinnitus

10% hearing loss "Service connection is warranted because your military occupational specialty of boatswain is consistent with acoustic trauma and your hearing loss has been linked to that acoustic trauma." "An evaluation of 10% is assigned because your right ear has a speech discrimination of 88 with an average decibel loss of 58 and your left ear has an average decibel loss of 61. The evaluation for hearing loss is based on objective testing."

PTSD and Parkinson's Disease have been deferred. "The issue of compensation for post traumatic stress disorder and cognitive disorder due to Parkinson's disease is deferred for the following information: VA examination and to determine if and how much your Parkinson's related cognitive disorder is intertwined with your PTSD, Depressive disorder and sleep disorder."

Among a myriad of other reasons for being deferred. Already had a C&P for PTSD, and also had submitted a FDC, DBQ by neurologist. But also at the time of the PTSD, hearing and tinnitus had also submitted for TDIU. Hurry up and wait!!!

  2. ag,

"Considerations in evaluating a mental disorder include the frequency, severity, and duration of psychiatric symptoms, the length of remissions, and the Veteran's capacity for adjustment during periods of remission. The evaluation must be based on all evidence of record that bears on occupational and social impairment rather than solely on an examiner's assessment of the level of disability at the moment of the examination. 38 C.F.R. § 4.126(a) (2010). Although the extent of social impairment is a consideration in determining the level of disability, the rating may not be assigned solely on the basis of social impairment. 38 C.F.R. § 4.126(b) (2010)."
Waiting on my husbands deferred decision for PTSD, as he has persistent delusions and hallucinations checked, with a second dx of chronic depression, but he also has another claim for parkinson's which has been deferred as well, they only rated hearing and tinnitus thus far, these were all first claims. 10% for hearing, 10% for tinitus. RO Winston/Salem, glad we moved from FL and are not dealing with St. Pete
  3. It shows similar on my husbands Ebenefits. After some research here and there. I have come to an opinion that is what happens when the raters are really working on your claim and they are closing out what they have rated. We stopped being concerned about what ebennies shows, says it has or doesn't have, etc. You can always call the 800# and ask if there is anything else required from you, if it helps you feel better. As far as when you will receive your final rating, I do not believe that anyone could actually give you a time frame. Hopefully others might share their thoughts, if this has happened to anyone else, so that you may have peace of mind.

  4. Will the VA pain management or neurologist Doctors, state that a person may need a Spinal Cord Stimulator or neuro stimulator. Just a thought, my husband had failed back surgery, nerve pain, etc. The spinal cord stimulator has helped him come off most of the drugs for his pain. It was a workers comp. injury and they paid for the surgery. Multiple ESI's, facet joint blocks, rhizotomy did not have any long lasting effect. For the SCS to work well, you really shouldn't be overweight. Just a thought, you might want to ask your doctors.

  5. I tried to create an account, but couldn't get past those dang silly letters for the security part. So I managed to create an account using facebook. So I can only enter Hadit by signing into facebook, which I find to be quite the pain in the @.........

How can I sign into Hadit without connecting with facebook?

    Thx.

  6. New to the site, and thank you to all.

Just went with my husband to his (QTC) C&P, for PTSD (Vietnam Vet). I stayed out in the vehicle. My husband came out and got me, the examiner wanted me in there with him. She stated that the VA likes to have the spouses there because many vets often forget things. Whether that is true or not, she did want me in there. She had never reviewed his C-File, only some notes from the VARO, she did not have computer access when she did the exam and also said that she had not reviewed anything on the computer. I did bring her his most recent treatment notes from his psychologist and psychiatrist. Also I made sure because her computer was down, that I called QTC every day to make sure the report went out. (which it went to the VARO today).
