  1. It is from a VA, vet affair .gov site, can provide link later if interested.
  2. Perhaps, emotions and things can get lost when typing words on a screen. You can still be a bud if you're a lady, lol....I do appreciate your help and i am not being a smarty pants or anything.
  3. I never said it wasn't solid advise bud...infact I informed you that I called "Peggy" so that would lead one to think the advise was taken, yes? I am guilty of asking the question on a few forums, yes, and I explained as such. Its not like you suggested "Peggy" and I blew it off...so again, thanks and my question was answered by your SOLID advise....not sure what else I can do for you bud, if you were closer I'd buy you a beer or something, lol
  4. Thanks for the advise fella's...I know its a slow process and that is not a problem.....Navy4life, again I posted on this forum the same time as the other, for various opinions from various posters....so yes you are correct that I posted on yuku. I did call Peggy and he gave me a fax number to send some things to. He said, while reviewing my claim, that I did check box 7a, and if I did not mean to do that then to fax a letter to the number he gave me explaining what happened and they can remove it, he can't. He also said about the drinking water, yes as far as he understands, New River is covered in the LeJeune situation.....I found some more supporting docs stating such, so he said to fax that in as well, and explain it again.
  5. Hi Berta...I've read and read but can't seem to locate it now...the Lejeune water problem....I am sure I read that New River was included in on the water problem but I can't locate it now...have you heard or read about New River included? If you know or not? Thanks, Ron

  6. Received word today on my new claim with the VA....seems I must have checked SAH and since I didn't submit a 26-4555 the claim will not be a FDC now, but will be standard claim...I must have been crossed eyed and I didn't see or mean to do this in my claim, is it to late to say, 'never mind'? and if I can will my claim got back to a FDC? Also I claimed exposure to the contaminated drinking water at Lejeune....It then stated my personnel records show I was at New River, and plz submit evidence of service at Lejeune....I submitted some papework that stated being stationed at New River was also considered as being part of the Lejeune problem...did I misread or was I freaken plain wrong?
  7. Yea I called the NPRC up and they sent me over a form to request either my entire SRB or parts of it. Of course back when I was in it was all paper docs so someone has to go in the 'back' and dig out the records from millions of others. Maybe I missed the point, you're saying my C file is the same as the SRB? And how do I go about requesting my C file from the VA? Phone?
  8. I wondered about that Navy, as when my med records were sent to me from the archives place the VA said they had received their copy already, so I didn't have to send the doc in....so do you think if I am filing a claim and the time on the Midway and also at New River I won't have to send those docs in as they should have them?
  9. Understood Wacc, but if I've done an intent to file, is that not the date the claim will go back to regardless?
  10. Faxed in the form for some documentation from my USMC SRB...my question is as I am doing a new claim on ebenefits should I wait for the info to come back from NPRC in St Louis, which will take weeks, or just go ahead and file online and scan what I have and submit the additional docs from NPRC when they arrive? I thought scanning something in after you've submitted your claim slows it down, but waiting will slow it down too....hmmm, confused.
  11. Thanks brother I didn't think of that. I did a quick online search and it directed me to National Personnel Records Center in St Louis, so I will give them a call in a bit. Again, thx
  12. Doing some more VA ebenefit documentation. There are two things that I am trying to find, my sea duty time on the USS Midway, and one duty station where I did training for 6 months, MCAS New River. Neither of these are on my DD214's so is there anyway to find documentation of such things while in the Marine Corps?
  13. Great idea Eagle and thanks...Merry Christmas to you and your family brother.
  14. Thanks Allan, Talon and everyone, great advise
  15. Thanks for the info guys..... Yea can't hurt to get a vet card. Is it true that the card doesn't show u have a disability rating?.... And will make appt to see a PCP... thanks again
  16. Have read about the water prob at Lejune for a while now....I have read some reports stating if you were stationed at New River you are included, but I can't be sure if this is accurate. I was with HMM264, TME unit, for 7 months in 1979. Does anyone know about New River being included?
  17. Thanks guys...yall are so helpful. Now don't think I'm trying to be a troublemaker already, haha, but I did call both the VA and also FT Meade VA clinic and they both said the same thing to me: I do not need the Veterans card if I have a military card. They both said that the Vet card doesn't show you're disabled or anything, its mostly used to get on the base, or to use at Lowes, etc..obviously my ID card will do the same. They both also said I do not need to go in a see anyone in the VA clinic unless I want to. I do not need a PCP type pick now or anything. I only will be required to go in when or if they ask me to, ie: a NOD or a new claim, etc. Anyways, just say'n that is what both the VA and also the VA clinic at Ft Meade told me.
  18. Again thanks so much for the info, everyone. I have not done that Buck, but plan to call FT Meade today for that. I am retired so I do have a retired DOD card, but will do the VA vet disability card. And thanks Berta, I am not drawing pay yet as I am not quite 60, but soon, so the CRDP isn't into play yet. Some great info on here. Not trying to knock other websites but I was a member of one and man, if you asked a question that someone deemed 'dumb' you got hammered. Yucku or something. Oh well thanks Buck for the welcome. BTW, I tried to intro myself on the intro section but yesterday I could not start a new thread there, maybe today is different as I just joined yesterday?
  19. Ahh, now I understand fellas....thanks for that information. I didn't understand why I had to see a VA doc but that makes sense.
  20. Hey bronco, thats interesting. Yes it will take me a while to get everything all organized and such anyways. I would love to hear what you have to say on the matter when you find out. I will PM you.
  21. I was recently awarded 40% for pay, knee, back, tinnitus, hearing. I feel as though my knee and back should be higher, thus the NOD. I have more evidence as well. I also have a few issues that I didn't file in the original claim, but now have secured the documents, so thats the reason for a new claim. So my question is would it create an issue or drag both of them down to a crawl if I were to file the NOD and new claim at the same time? Also, generally speaking, do NODs take as long as the original claim, or is there no rhyme or reason to the time frame involved?
