  1. If you haven't already, you can get a paper from a VA Rep to exempt you from property taxes at 100%. Just bring the paper they give you to your tax assessor and that should help knock a chunk out of your mortgage. Also, in Louisiana 90 and 100% disabled vets get a benefit of full tuition payments for children, even adopted kids. Also, your family is entitled to a special type of health care. You can read about it on the ebenefits website.
  2. Since I had gone to see military doctors for anxiety while on active duty, they had military medical record history for my PTSD claim and so after my initial C&P exam it only took them about three weeks to make a decision and finish my claim. My sister on the other hand applied and didn't have any military medical history. They asked her to come in for a few more tests so it took them about three months after her initial C&P exam before they made a final decision.
