  1. The rating was based on ROM. I am also SC for cervical radiculopathy at 0%. It feels pretty bad the numbness goes from my shoulder to the first the fingers and up into my face. The pain is in the right side of my back and shoulder. alos have notice some numbing in the right leg. I have also had some bowel and bladder problems (don't know if these are connected) not being able to empty my bladder and going from constipation to diarrhea (dr say its colitis, I say its from being on pain meds for so many years.
  2. My MRI results came: severe stenosis right C3/4; moderate stenosis right C6/7. Mild C3/4 canal narrowing with spur disc. I am going to a specialist tomorrow. Should I file for an increase, I am rated at 20%? Thanks
  3. I took hydrocodone 5/500 for the last 6 years. Acouple of months age they upped it to 7.5/500.
  4. Thanks guys..I am gonna need some help. My mind does not work like it used to. I can't figure out where to start. But I'm gonna try. Any info you can share will help. I will post what is said at my consult. Cause of the pain & the colitis I'm kinda messed up. I have trouble consontrating and remembering.
  5. Berta Thanks so much for replying, UR great. I am 20% for C4-5-6 neck fusion, my last mri at the VA (all the doc said was nerve trapped about shoulder level) and is scheduling for a consult w/surgeon. I think by the pain it's the one above the fusion. As for the colitis, I am SC 10% for gastris due to the meds. They may never admit it but I know the colitis has come from chronic constitpation from the pain meds. Not sure what DC means.
  6. Can some please remind me where the instructions are for a claim to increase your rating. The VA is sending me to a Surgeon for neck surgery. The nerve above my fusion has trapped a nerve and causing a great deal of pain. Because of the years of chronic pain, meds and now colitis... my mind is not functing well. i can't remember crap.... Thanks
  7. I was recently diagnosed with Pan colitis. This ulcerative colitis in both the small and large intestine. When I went to the VA with my syptoms my VA doc didn't even check my colon. Said it was just nerve pain in my back causing my stomach to hurt, and put me on nose spray stating my eyes were so puffy because of allergies :{ My second doctor (a surgeon stated it was not genetic) he first thought bacterial, turned out it was not. So, he sent me to a specialist. I go back in 3 months. He is treating with medicine. Which has helped but not cured, there is no cure. Watching what you eat, or not eating helps. The specialist said I would need a colonscopy every three years till I hit the 8 year mark, then every year, cause that is when it is most likely to turn to cancer. I know my meds have had and effect on this and more than likey caused this. What I don't know is how to connect the two. When someone is own medication that caused chronic constipation you know its gonna make your colon sick :{
  8. Need help connecting my pan colitis to gastris and hydrocodone use. I recently saw a specialist. He told me that my pancolitis would never go away and in 8 years I would have to be screened evry year for cancer. I need help to connect this to my gastris secondary to the meds to treat my SC for cervical disk fusion. Any sugestions are appreciated. Also how to file a new claim for this. Thanks
  9. Got my diagnosis, Pan Colitis. I have felt trerrible since the end of June. Finally I became so ill I had to do something. I am going to a specialist later this month. My question is I am SC for gastritis. Also I have been on Pain Meds and alot of other drugs since my SC neck surgery. Does anyone know if the medications, stress or causes my entire colon to be covered in ulcers. My meds have been: hydrocodone, ibuprofine, celexa, welburine, muscle relaxers, topimate and numberous other over the last 5 years. Does anyone have any advice of pan colitis. i need all the info I can get to be healthy again. Thanks
  10. I have been on everything you can think of. I went to the VA first and my doctor said it was a bladder infection. Next thing I knew I was doubled over in pain, and dumb me lived that way for 2 months until it got so bad I couldn't get up. The civilian doctor and the surgeon thought it was cancer. The CT scan said cancer. "Here's the great part, the power of prayer can do anything" the Lord spared me from that dreadful disease.
  11. I am 10% for Gastritis with Gastroesphageal Reflux Disease since 2004. I have felt like I was dying for the past 2 months. I have been sick since Christmas. Had no idea what is was. Recently I have been diagnosed with the lining of my bladder bladding and failur to emply bladder when urinating and WORST of severe colotis. I am still under a doctors care for both. I am still very very sick. Does anyone know if this could be related gastritis or the fact that the VA has had me on numerous meds for the past five years & hydrocodone for 5 years. I need help my insides feel like they are coming apart. Its so bad 3 doctors thought it might be cancer before my colonscopy. I still in a hot tub and scream in painduring the worst flare up and sleep with heating pad on my stomach every night. Please help. Any suggestions on VA Life style I am desperate. Thanks
  12. Maybe I did fill out the Form 10-10EZ and don't remember. I don't remember alot lately. Thanks, I was just curious.
  13. I am a 60% disabled Vet. Recently I noticed the VA was charging my civil insurance for the services they provide. I didn't think they were suppose to charge if you were over 50%?? Plus, how did they get my insurance info, I didn't give it to them??? Thanks
  14. The VA sent me to a civilian pain clinic for treatment. Now, I get a letter in the mail saying they won't pay for it. I have 1 year to appeal. What should I do first?
  15. I am combined 60%, and working is killing me due to the back pain & the meds I have to take. Can I file and keep working? May highest single rating is 20% but all may ratings come from the same accident?? I can't take care of my family on what I currently receive without working. This is eventually going to kill me. Thanks guys
  16. Makes me mad cause in NC it doesn't entitle you to handicap parking. Just a ticket.
  17. Trying to help out a friend. if you have 100% disability can you go to work at a state job as a correction officer & keep your money?
  18. Has anyone from NC gotten their allowance???
  19. That sounds so much like myself right down to the recliner.
  20. surgery was in private sector for injury resulting from military vehicle accident.
  21. What I wrote was a little confusing, he wrote: Patient suffers from chronic pain syndrome: fibromalgia ??". All my pain started after neck surgery and my neck is SC for DDD. Its like they have disected me to keep from giving a high rating and give me a bunch of small ones that are all connected.
  22. My Va doctor has said I have chronic pain syndrome. He put in the report "fibromalgia ??". Just like that, he said he thought I might have it, due to all my back problems and wide spread pain, oh yeah he left that out of the report too. Can I fill a claim on what he did say? I have done some research and it sure sounds like me. But that all I have to back it up. I am sc for neck, back, arms, headaches. Anyone hav any suggstions?
  23. Thanks -- Berta it all helps Jbasser -- sent you a message, not sure if you got it. Not sure how to get you info (no scanner) I do appreciate the help. Guys my mind is really fuzzy right now. I'm having problems keeping things straight, its been rough month family wise (2 family & 3 friends) been tough. Still trying to reel back for all that.
  24. Vike 17, you made so good points. I talked with my VA rep after the post yesterday. I had originally filed for BLR on 1/18/06, it was deined, reason being must be chronic. (I guess they had to rule in my favor when the NCS stated it was chronic) When I talked to my rep he pointed out the raters had only used my NCS and C&P exam to rate me on this issue. The doc who did my C&P was not on my side. We talked about how much pain and my problems at work and he totally lied and stated in the C&P my test were negative for pain. (This really makes me angry, I will be sure they understand my pain, should I have another C&P.) I am working now on a request to reconsider "pointing out they failed to take all my medical documentation into consideration". Also I have new documentation and waiting on the mail to get here - I have requested all my doctors info to see if there is anything in it to help me. I have medical documentation on this condition all the way back to 2003. Thanks for the help, will post me new letter.
