sorry it took so long to reply. I wanted to say how va clinics have improved since 1989. I am getting good care now. I delt with civilian doctors in a small community over 10 years then when I no longer had insurance I had to go to the va. WOW what an improvement they checking things out and keeping in touch. I have trouble with memory keeping train of thought. I realize I don't make myself clear. Berta thank you for asking me question It helps to learn how what needed. I sure there are lot of people interested in your claim. During basic training lot of soilders got hurt and discharged. JFL-physical disability-severance pay or juvenile offender. May be they think your a juvenile offender. 1986 was in peacetime basic training isn't in line of duty period it's training period. Did you make it to permit duty station.

I just received copies of my retired va medical records no smr. I was in new orleans va hospital in the late 1980's. They couldn't spell my last name right not even close. sentence in the report really had me pissed. She was then evaluated and treated by a questionable army doctor and/or sick call. First off I was in the air force and the so called queationable doctor was a neurologist at keesler medical center. Va doctor was a medical doctor not a neurologist.

I would make at less 2 copies of your medical records keep one in a secure location. Make sure you keep your appointments keep the va informed of an change of address. I lost my 40% down to 0%. Because I moved around didn't notify va. Also are you getting a severance pay from the army if so remember the va has to pay the army the amount of your severance pay back. When your out remember your smr are worth their weight in gold.

what procedure did they do that you knew it was for drugs and not just a urine sample for blood in urine or something like that

Berta thank you I keeping my effective date of may 2006. I going to keep it as simple as possible depend on evidence to get higher %. I messed up years ago not understanding I could get higher % va. I filled may 2006 I was awarded 10% nod received 20% . They had given me 0% may 91. I have requested my records hoping my smr are in with these records I know they were at one time. Berta thank you for your fast reply Friend of mine said I should be able to get back pay to 1991. I don't know how.

I discovered the other day va retired my medical va records in 2000. I ask if my military records could be in them most likely. It had been several year I hadn't used va. american legion has my poa filed a nod for the evaluation on the seizures and the synovitis of the right knee on 06/30/89. soc issued on 10/03/89. she never formalized her appeal with a form-9. november 1990, she failed to report to a routine future exam and subsequently her award was terminated 05/91 she still seems to owe 8,490. in air force severance pay they have not yet recouped. during this time I moved around allot. va told me i missed a doctor appointment sometime in 1990. I moved around allot during that period. 2000 I requested my medical records have copies send to local county va rep. The old rep told me they send copy it was 1 inch thick. The new rep took over last year can,t find them plus just 2 week ago I had drop copy of some medical records went in yesterday could not find the copy from my doctor. It kind of scary lucky I have a copy. They can not find any paperwork on me before 2006. this is my county rep.

Air force rated me at 20% sc. va rated me at 40% seizue 0% right knee no rating for lower back injury this was in 1988 I had a car accident on the way to appointment didn't make so my benefits went to 0%.
