  1. Hey,i just wanted to put a plug in for the memphis va hospital. I have been to several va hospitals and have never had the quality treatment anywhere like the memphis va.

They have taken care of me off and on since 1970 and i have always been treated with respect even when i was non service connected.

Just wanted to let everybody know ,they are really good and they have my respect.

  2. I am sure glad it was just a glitch i have been suspended one time for my big mouth, and i promised to be on my best behavior since .

I would freak if i could not access my hadit ,so kinda reminded me to stick with the rules, may have been a good thing for me . Sometimes i let my mouth overload my you know what.

  3. Hi everyone,

I was in VA Claims General here at hadit, when the words "THIS ACCOUNT IS SUSPENDED" came up and each time I would click on a new topic or anything these words would appear. This took place for about 25 to 30 minutes.

I don't know why my account would be suspended when I didn't do or say anything wrong at anytime.

So please can a moderator explain to me as to why my account was suspended. This is scarry.

    Thanks!

Just a glitch same thing happened to me i freaked out at first til i found out it was a glitch.

  4. Memory failed ,lost records at home if you need your employment records from about ten or twelve years back how do you get them . Who do you contact ?

Havent worked in over ten years and cant remember or find my records from then.

  5. Skunk

It sounds like the Va has "hoodwinked" you too. You can overcome this, but the "VA bureaucracy" will slow it down to a crawl. I recommend a "multi point attack" to beat the VA on this. Hep C is very very serious, and you need to seek treatment for it, regardless of your benefit status. Yes, it can kill you. (Complications from hep c include liver cancer and other things)

    1. Send a 21-4138 and state in it how that medical exam is deficient and ambigious and maybe ask for another one.

    2. Apply for Service connection for Hepatitis C, if you havent already. In your application state something like a stun gun was used in the military, and you have been diagnosed with hep c. If you are "negative" for things like tatoo's/IV drug use, then so state it, because the VA will try to blame your hep c on those things or "willfull misconduct". If you go to another C and P exam, be sure to tell the examiner if you are "negative" for IV drug use or tatoos, as the VA will use that evidence against you. If the doctor does not say anything about tatoos/ IV drugs, the VA will automatically assume you are an IV drug user and have had 3000 tatoos with dirty needles, causing your hep c. You are guilty until proven innocent, but you can point out to the doctor.."See..no tatoos, and no IV drug marks, because I dont do either". Another "booby trap" the VA uses to deny your hep c is alcoholism. If you have hep c which destroys your liver, the Va is going to try to blame "willfull misconduct" (such as alcoholism) because excessive alcoholism also causes liver disease.

    3. NOD the decision, if applicable, and also state the issues above in your NOD.

    4. Keep up with hadit with any changes, and NEVER GIVE UP.

    thanks bronc

  6. You could make a good argument in your NOD that the SC Bi polar has "aggravated " your NSC hepatitis as the interferon treatment has been found medically unfeasible due to it's side affects that would aggravate the mental condition.

There is medical info on the net to support that-

"I put a claim in for hep. c and on my decision they said the docs said i was not a candidate for treatment ,leaving out the fact that it was due to my mental illness, wonder why?"

Did the doctor's statement they used specifically state why the interferon was not feasible treatment? stating that your SC condition prevented it's use?

Ok here are the exact words "due to his history and present condition of depression he is not a candidate for treatment at this time"

The point i am trying to get across is when i got my denial letter they said " not a candidate for treatment " and left out the reason why trying to minimize the extent of my illness. On the tests i got back said strong results for hep c. ,something to that effect.

was going to get the shots of interferon and after talking to doc about the mental health aspects of it they would not give me the shots.

And i do not see why this would not help my bipolar claim for an increase.

  7. Look at your caller ID. If thde ID says lexington it is the VAMC. If it says Louisville or a 502 area code then it is the RO. Contrary to popular belief, The RO does call to do quality assurance checks every so often.

    J

10-4 i have had the ro call my house while i had a claim pending. I was glad to hear from the guy to tell you the truth.

  8. when i applied for sc hep c they in my denial they tried to minimize it by saying i was not a candidate for treatment as it was not serious enough right now.

i was sitting in front of the nurse fixing to start treatment and she had the needle out and was going to start treatment and we discussed mental health.

when she found out about my mental health status she said we better wait and my wife also was concerned.

so they left out that part about why i could not take the treatment, the crooks.

they in my denial left out the part saying i was not a candidate for treatment for mental health reasons all they said was not a candidate for treatment as it had not progressed enough for treatment. they were leading to believe treatment was not available because it was not serious enough which is a lie.

  9. You could make a good argument in your NOD that the SC Bi polar has "aggravated " your NSC hepatitis as the interferon treatment has been found medically unfeasible due to it's side affects that would aggravate the mental condition.

There is medical info on the net to support that-

Did the doctor's statement they used specifically state why the interferon was not feasible treatment? stating that your SC condition prevented it's use?

yes the doc said was not a candidate for treatment due to mental complications

  10. Ok i am sc for bipolar disorder and have been suicidal ,been recently hospitalized. I also hep. c positive.

In the past i discussed getting the inteferon treatment, but after talking to the doctors they decided i was not a candidate for treatment due to my mental status,as the treatment has severe side effects mentally.

I put a claim in for hep. c and on my decision they said the docs said i was not a candidate for treatment ,leaving out the fact that it was due to my mental illness, wonder why?

So what i am saying is i dont see why since i cannot take the treatment due to my service connected illness and hep c is getting worse hep.c can be secondary in my case.

I know i got this s--t in vietnam i just do not know how ,without it was because i had a lot of drugheads around. At that time i did not know what a marijuana cigarette was.

Did not use drugs at all.

WHAT I AM SAYING IS IF I COULD GET THE DAMN TREATMENT I WOULD PROBABLY FEEL BETTER ,BUT I CANT DUE TO MY MENTAL CONDITION,I HATE THE B------S !

  11. Wow, all those features will make a lot of difference with me,it will help me a lot keeping up with my meds.

Sure would be nice if you could review your doctors reports . I can't wait to sign the dotted line now.

Just to be safe i am going to watch the movie again and it is not just because bo derek is on it :o

  12. Been using it for the last couple years. No problema'!

Of course, all you can really, really do right now is view your prescription history and re-order your prescriptions on-line (which is still a GOOD thing, I just get on the site every once in a while, like every three or four weeks and re-order and, bingo, it appears in my mailbox and I have, like nine different prescriptions so that makes it really handy.

I'll be glad when they get the clinic appointments set up where you can make and check-up on your clinic appointments.

You can take the required instructional course thingey on-line and save having to go to the VAMC, unless they have changed it in the last couple years. You do have to take the signature sheet to them, though, whereby you swear and affirm and offer up your first born son, that you have ACTUALLY watched the thing. :o

That is all i needed to hear,i thought it might be a good thing. I did watch the video !

  13. Just givin the heads up the $250.00 that was going to be given for SS and VA recipients was rejected by the senate with a vote of 50 to 47. Not trying to get political just givin an update on what is going on.

Country is broke,we are going to be lucky to keep what we got.

  14. I have just signed on to myhealthevets online where you can view your prescription status and a whole lot more. I just signed on and have to go in person to sign up for more info that i can get online. Seems to be very secure.

Anybody know of any drawbacks to this online feature for vets ?

  15. Well got the iris about who was representing me on my appeal though the law firm i had before is listed they are not repping me as far as i know.

I only used them one time and claim was decided before they could do anything , they are a good firm as they said i did not owe them anything.

So on the iris they sent me the download for the form 21-22 power of atty . So i guess my claim has been up there months and months with no representatin.

Good thing i checked about this i guess. Now to figure out who to get to represent me.

  16. if she agrees to handle it fine but what if she leaves in the middle of it, I have had a couple of service organizations makes personnel changes while they were "representing me" your POA is to the service organization not a specific rep and if she is one of many in the office, they may have it by alphabet or SSAN on who handles which claim

you need to have a good idea on if she is going to be the one to handle your claim and that her leaving does not appear to be in the cards during the next couple of years if it has to go to the BVA and ask upfront if you have a BVA hearing on the issue will she be the one to handle it otherwise if you sign the POA you may get caught up in their system

ok thanks , i really want to get some one who will stick with me all the way through.

  17. I am contemplating filing a claim for increase, and when i filed for increase before i had a lady from state who is with american legion who really seems like a dedicated person.

She is suggesting i have american legion rep me in case of an appeal i would be represented nationally.

I cant say enough good things about this lady, she always answers my emails and seems to know what she is doing.

I am thinking of taking her up on her offer to let the legion represent me. The main thing, i would like for her to be the one representing me.

  18. All you have to do is fill out a Power Of Attorney (VA Form # 21-22) and give it to whomever you want representing you. It is then up to them to forward it on to your local VA Regional Office (of course, if you so choose, you can send a copy along to the VARO also). Once they receive this POA all other POA's are null and void.

    Problem Solved.

Great ,i needed to know that thanks.

  19. (Third try to reply, having problems with Firefox after updates)

It's reasonable for the state rep to ask for something from the lawyer saying that they don't currently represent you.

It sounds like the VA did not get (or lost) the form saying that the lawyer represents you.

Well i sent an iris to find out as i have an appeal going on and the state is supposed to be reping me on it.
