  1. one week to my hearing in front of the alj. i saw my lawyer yesterday, he gave me copy of my pre-hearing brief and i updated him with copies of medical records and meds to turn into the hearing office. my pcp also prescribe morphine sulfate (15mg) to go with all the pain meds i'm on. if anyone can give me any advice on some questions or what really happens in the hot seat i'll like to know, thanks.

  2. Yes-this is normal-you must have asked for Reconsideration or appealed with some good evidence-

I agree that they need to check how much and for how long you paid into the SSA account to develop the proper amount of your check (dependents might get one too if there are children under 16.)

SSA gave my husband SSA for a CVA but we filed for Reconsideration as they never evaluated his PTSD. A few months later they award PTSD,with a better SSA EED and sent us over 17,000 thousand.

The reconsideration only took 3-4 months and the retro check came in 3-4 weeks.

    ruffcreek,

congrats on the the award, ms berta do you have a better chance of getting approved for ssdi with ptsd at the alj level.

  3. has anyone ever taken this medication before. my doctor says that the pharmacy at the va has taken oxycodone off the shelves so she prescribe me this med. if anyone can give me any feed back on this as far as side effects or any info would be nice. i haven't received the meds yet so i wouldn't know what to expect. she put me on 15mg (2x a day).

  4. yoggie2,

if you don't mind can you kind of describe some of the questions the judge and the voc rehab guy was throwing at you. usually how long do these hearings last? i talked with my lawyer yesterday (2/24) and he was saying that he was putting my pre hearing brief together and he wasn't sending it off until after i see my civilian pyschiatrist on the 9th of mar. but anything you can help out with the hearing process, i'll gladly take from you or anyone (experiences).

  5. free,

thanks for the input, i hope the alj really looks at my case really hard. the closer i get to march 27th the nervous i get. did you have to put one of these pre-brief letters together and turn it into the judge. my lawyer said most alj want you to write these letters 10 days prior to your hearing date. and do they really help you out and in most cases will they get you otr decision.

  6. allan,

like i was saying taking trazdone, zoloft, seroquel, klonopin and librium and with all the other meds i'm taking it's a miracle i can even function on on a daily basis. i meant to ask you what is the difference between oxycontin and oxycodone. well with all these meds i'm taking i hope the alj at my hearing next month see how its effecting my daily living.

  7. CAN ANYONE THAT'S BEEN TO A HEARING ANSWER FOR ME PLEASE, I'M ON SOME SERIOUS MEDS AND I WANT TO KNOW HOW WILL THIS PLAY A PART IN MY HEARING. I'VE BEEN STUDYING THIS SITE FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND VETS SAY THAT THE JUDGE ASK YOU ABOUT YOUR ACTIVITES OF DAILY LIVING AND HOW DO YOUR MEDS EFFECT YOUR DAILY LIVING. IS THERE ANY MORE THINGS VETS WANT TO SHARE ABOUT THERE EXPERIENCES IN THE HOTSEAT. I'M ON SEROQUEL (400MG), ZOLOFT (200MG), TRAZODONE (100MG), KLONOPIN (1MG), LIBRIUM (50MG), OXYCODONE(5MG,325MG 3X ADAY), TOPAMAX (300MG), NAPROXEN (500MG(2)DAY) AND THE LIST GOES ON.

  8. BERTA YOU ARE CORRECT ABOUT THE MEDICAL OPINION FROM THE DR. AS FAR AS MY MENTAL STATUS DIAGNOSES FROM THIS DR. IS MDD, PAD, PTSD, GAD AND HE HAS ME ON SEROQUEL, KLONOPIN, TRAZODONE, ZOLOFT AND LIBRIUM AND MY LAWYER JUST RECENTLTY UPDATED MY MEDICAL RECORDS AND MEDS AT SOCIAL SECURITY BECAUSE I HAVE A HEARING ON THE 27TH OF MARCH. THIS IS JUST FOR MENTAL NOT MY PAIN.
