Well, J, looks like you're spot on with your comments. I just got back from the DAV. My rep looked it up in a book, called a friend for more advice and then told me basically the same thing. My diastolic MUST be predominately over 100 WHILE on medication... Basically, the hypertension is not well controlled even under medication, then you'll get a 10% rating. So, I'll leave it as is and not tie up anybodies resources fighting the currrent rating - it would be pointless.
At least I got it SC at 0%. I don't suppose the VA would pay for my meds at that rate, would they?
Anyways, thanks J, for your time on this.
Even though you have 0%, it's a service-connected condition, which means that they are not supposed to charge you nor your insurance carrier for anything, including meds!!! And if you did pay for meds from the effective date on, they are supposed to pay that money back!!!

Congrats! Did you get your increase for DDD for lumbar or IVDS of the lumbar ?
I am rated for both DDD and IVDS.

I finally received the decision from my NOD that I filed in April 2009. Yep, thats a increase from 10% to 40% for my back, bringing me up to 50%!!! I have some other stuff filed which are pending decisions, maybe that will bring me up to my next goal...70%!!! Thanks to all of you, believe me without your advice and experience, I wouldn't have made it past the VBA door!!!

In PR, as long as your TBI incident is documented to have taken place in Active Duty, you shouldn't have a problem. If you went to sickcall during Active Service, it wouldn't hurt!!! Otherwise, be ready to fight!!!

I think your supposed to be rated for the knee to a max of 60% (after the Temp. 100% period) after a Total Knee Replacement, also the cut nerve must be rated secondary to you knee condition, so send that claim as soon as possible.

I would just take copies to the C&P, and give them to the Doctor who will be evaluating you.
-
I have service-connected hypertension at 0%. I think you have to have it above a systolic 140 or a Diastolic of 90 for a higher percentage. Even if you are constantly above 140 or 90, they actually have a C&P for this. They make you come in three days straight for a reading and average out the numbers, but like someone said the VA doctors will throw every medication at your BP in order to control it.

Request serivice-connection for skin rash due to undiagnosed illness under 38 CFR 3.317.
-
Same thing happened to me with my knees, but ya gotta keep fighting!!!

They will only send you a new DD 214 if two DD 215 have previously been done for the latest DD 214. A DD215 should correct the situation.
-
My father received service-connection for his Hep C due to a tatoo he received while in service. We filed on the basis of the jet-injector innoculations, but the doctor did a great job using the tatoo as a risk factor. Surprised the @#$& outta me once we receive the decision. Try to use all the risk factors in your favor!

Yes, here it is, the neuropathy is not a neurological disorder decision!!!
-
I really need a ulnar neuropathy decision/evidence based on presumption due to discharge (38 CFR 3.309), had mine denied because apparently ulnar neuropathy is not a NEUROLOGICAL disorder!!!
-
I was issued a DD 214 as a member of U.S. Army Reserves, upon completion of training. Was issued another one when I came back from Iraq. I also had issues with my last DD 214, and was issued a DD 215 to correct the errors. Your person can have his corrected at Human Resources Command, BUT he has to have actual copies of his awards and citations.
P.S. They will NOT issue another DD 214, only correct one via a DD 215.
Hope that helps!

Yeah, the DAV told my dad to be happy with 50%...I took hold of his case and he is now 100% plus A/A!!!
-
I have connected my esophagitis due to NSAID's like Naproxen and Motrin prescribed for my service-connected conditions.
-
Just got my Dad's decision a few days ago, and just received my increase to 30%!!!
-
My father (veteran plus spouse) is 100% s/c plus SMC L. He also has various other conditions to include a 60% s/c condition. Can he also request SMC S? If so how much more would that be? Just checking to see if it is worth it!
-
Got my Dad 100% plus SMC L!!! Thanks to Hadit and all you guys!!! Now just waiting for my case which is in the Rating Board, cross your fingers guys!!!
