  2. Since 1966 I have believed that I was exposure to AO @ FT Lewis, WA. The only reason I believed it an AO a buddy on same detail was a Vietnam Vet. When I became disabling I strongly believed that my prostate cancer, DMII, and severe PN were all caused by this AO exposure. In some ways I had a place to hang my hat on a reason, place and time of what happen to me.

After tons of research I cannot find any AO at FT Lewis...

Thanks to this web site I researched EPA – Superfund Cleanup – NIH – CDC – NIOSH – IARC

Fort Lewis has TCE in post drinking water. Pesticide exposure when assigned to clean up detail (This is same assignment I believed was the AO exposure) and the old WWII barracks we lived were over sprayed with pesticides when idle years after Korea war and the start of Vietnam

My local Neurologist an Army veteran also suggested that I connect the dots from being station at FT Lewis was the cause of my DMII and my secondary condition being PN and PC. I had been looking at PN because this is what caused me to be disabled and stop working. The Neurologist will write an IMO letter to VA to support my DMII ~ PN.

I would like to thank the members that help point me in searching other reason for my health problems.

  3. I found this info @

    http://www.epa.gov/superfund/sites/fiveyea...07100001723.pdf

I know I may never prove AO at this post but it is additional information to support my claims for severe PN (granted SSDI for PN), DMII & Prostate Cancer

All other do not forget this EPS resource.

Pesticide Rinse Area: Pesticide Rinse Area is a non-NPL CERCLA site as a result of RCRA corrective action recommendations in the 1986 RFA and its inclusion in the 1990 FFA. The site is a 34-foot by 34-foot concrete pad without secondary containment that was used for at least 24 years as a rinsing area for pesticide applicator equipment and empty chemical containers. The site is located on the south side of Building 2054. The current and anticipated future land use designated for the site in the Fort Lewis Master Plan is administration (equivalent to commercial). The investigation chronology includes soil sampling in 1986 and a site investigation in 1994. Although the site does not pose an unacceptable risk or hazard given current and anticipated future land use, ongoing action (i.e., land use controls) continues since chlordane, dieldrin, and heptachlor were present in soil in 1994 at concentrations above residential cleanup levels for the potential direct contact pathway.

  4. In 1968 I filed a claim for problems with my knee that I broke when on active duty. Due to problems with the VA during my first C&P I never followed up on the claim. In 2008 I was awarded 10% compensation for arthritis.

How to claim pain back to 1968 which was in the original claim, and request reconsideration for back pay?

FYI, I have a NOD in process but the above is not part on the NOD.

    Thanks for any direction

  5. I found the below information but do not know what the normal percentage for speech recognition?

    http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/Benefits/exams/disexm05.htm

[For VA purposes, impaired hearing is considered to be a disability when the auditory threshold in any of the frequencies 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 Hz is 40 dB HL or greater; or when the auditory thresholds for at least three of these frequencies are 26 dB HL or greater; or when speech recognition scores are less than 94%.]

  6. My point of view since I am

12 (1997) years post prostate cancer surgery

    11 (1998) radiation treatment of 35 or 7.5 weeks

2004~2008 two different protocols at NIH Bethesda MD PSA checked every month at NIH

Hormonal treatment on going with Leuprolide that I have been responding well with reoccurring prostate cancer

My Point never go longer than six months without a PSA test.
