  2. i am lost in what i need to do to prove my claim. i have a chronic cough from my post nasal drip that started while overseas. i think it was caused from the horrible pollution that i was constantly around. i have a board hearing coming up and have no idea what i need for proof. the va acknowledges the condition i have its not service connected. HELP
  3. i dont know if this section is only for ptsd claims or what but here i go. i have been going to ptsd group therapy for a year and i dont think its for me. my question is how do i quit it and what other type of therpy is out there that you all have tried?
  4. i am hoping to get a rating i deserve this month.
  5. does anyone have a link to some information i can forward to my mother so she better understands what i am going through. my mother still treats me like i am 5 and i blow up on her b/c i cant handle being around her at all. there are more situations but i'm not going to bore you with them.
  6. my doctors advised me to quit my job b/c it was a stress-er for my ptsd. i did so and then submitted for unemployment (you can collect it if a doc tells you to quit). i got a letter back from the unemployment stating : Findings: the certification completed by the claimant's health care provider indicates the claimant is not able to work at the present time. does this mean its time for me to apply for ssdi?
  7. WOW, the news was at my golden carrol. I skipped out....to many people.
  8. my neuropsych testing results in a nut shell were average to above average except one test i scored ZERO in which was a demencha score. the docs said it must of been a my ptsd messing with my concentration. i have a appoiment on monday with a doctor, not a brain doc but hopefully he can answer my questions. i also have a appointment in Feb. for neurosurgery consult. Thanks for the links
  9. sorry i cant be of much help to you but you will get a very informative response soon
  10. sent a NOD stating to the effect of the information i have already provided meets the 100% qualification.......
  11. my mri results came back. i don't have an appointment with a brain doc that can tell me WTF this means till dec <_< . one of the people helping me said i am in a very rare case because most TBI's don't show up on the MRI and mine did. i am going to file a claim but more importantly I WANT ANSWERS NOW about what is wrong with me. Impression: two tiny T2-weighted, hyperintense foci observed in the left frontal white matter which are nonspecific probable 1.1 x 1.3 cm pineal cyst slight asymmetry of the temporal horns of the ventricular system
  12. my ptsd rating got bumped up to 30%. it finally feels like i am getting somewhere with the va system. my questions is the decision letter says ''a higher evaluation of 50% in not warranted unless there is reduced reliability and productivity due to such symptoms as : flattened affect; circumstantail, circumlocutory or sterotyped speech; panic attacks more than once a week; difficulty in understanding complex commands; impairment of short and long term memory;impaired judgment; impaired abstract thinking; disturbances of motivation and mood; difficulty in establishing and maintaing effective work ans social relationships''. i think the papers i submitted from my doctors show i have these conditions that would grant me 50% or more, so i guess i submit another N.O.D?
  13. no i haven't filed a claim yet, after i have my follow up appointment i will.
  14. OMG i had a neuropsychiatric test today, i almost walked out multiple times. that test was SO STRESSFUL. i will post up results when they come in(couple weeks) for y'alls opinion.
  15. my vfw guy helped me out with the paper work. i forgot what the form was called but yes it was a N.O.D.
  16. the doctor i was working with set me up with a case manager, i'm not married.
  17. i have submit a disagrence with the percent i was awarded. i attached several strong letters my doctors wrote for me to help my claim. *crosses fingers and hopes for the best*
  18. i had the appointment and was diagnosed with mild tbi from my symptoms. i now have a MRI lined up and several other appointments, more to come.....
  19. what about if the request for increase is within 30 days of your rating?
  20. after being pissed b/c of the 10% i now realize i at least got something. my doctors wrote letters that got me out of my deployment/discharged out of IRR. the doctors told me to save them b/c i can submit them to get i higher percent in the future. the letters are well written stating my ptsd is worsening and affecting my job, personal life, mood, ect. one of my doctors wants me to find another job b/c my current one is a ''stresser''. this next week i am going to have my group therapy doctor write a letter saying that i am attending group, any other advise for more documentation? carlie: this was from the VA
