  1. what is P&T?

Is it an increase in benefits? As in money? Medical benefits that he doesn't already get, like dental?

    &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

you mightask one of the guys that is so smart on these things...

BUT, as I have read some place, if you are 100% P&T or 100% IU you can get dental

I might be able to find that if you want.... just ask

  2. Maybe a simple request or task ought to be issued to select members of the Media to actually INVESTIGATE

each individual complaint we all have about the VA.

Each member of the media can be contacted via e-mail that you are interested in doing a fair Investigation.

list each question, complaint or concern in a short sentence.

Several people on Fox come to mind, but pick all that you wish to be invited in the investigation.

send out 2, 4,8, how ever many e-mails.... pick a single 60 minute reporter send your e-mails several times, give them you contact information so that they can reply.

Even John Stossel in Fox business....

Someone that Will spend research time to get at the facts, remember you do not need to talk about your file, boxes of proof, that Will make him lose interest, tell them if they want your story, to have them contact you....

If they get interested your gunna be on the phone for hours....

    Be polite and organized...

  3. It is real easy to get all upset about the 60 minutes report last night, but ...\Suggestion

every one that posts use some type of easily understandable questions that the Investigators ought to ask.

    \ something like the below

    1. what is the role of the private civilian C&P company the VA Uses and the conflicts and problems associated.

    2. shreadergate

    3. Why no universal training of the evaluators so that like at McDonald's if you hate the hamburger in California, and Texas,

you can bet it all the Seattle and Memphis McDonald's is crap also..

4.VA lawyers and what they have done to get them in trouble\\

    5. LIST the list of complaints and questions, do not state your problem in full detail, we want the INVESTIGATORS to look into very precise directions and problems.

go here yo post your list

    http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=605...ain;cbsCarousel

I have posted though I forget the best ones..

  4. Well, bemoaning the weak, short ill informed 60 minutes show, everyone needs to go to the CBS 60 minutes web site look around to send e-mails with what every one has said here and more....

Ex[lain to tha "show" they need to actually do some reporting and INVESTIGATION....

I and you know a good portion of what the VA claims will never happen.

The sweet heart deal with the private C&P company just for one thing....

what about the VA officials that got thrown in jail? shreddergate, and all?

never mentioned..... there is a list that needs to be made

I will light up CBS's web site with e-mails to 60 Minutes and show them they missed the wholepoint..

WE all need to get the ball rolling..

  5. *************************************************************

If they try that it may start a fire storm, in the 60's everyone smoked like a chiminey, except me and I have filed for AO IHD

    ***************************************************

the reason I say that is because the government feed us smokes in every C-Rat seems now us old guys

were induced to smoke if so inclined..... I saw guys smoke that never smoked after a few mortor rounds and

    AK rounds and dead buddies....

Now no smokes in the daily ration... they mayhave a claim with the youngsters of todays military, but I think not.

I bet a group of lawyers are ready to jump on that issue

  6. Do you think there is any point in filing a claim for IHD due to AO if you are already SC'ed for CAD as secondary to DMII from AO exposure?

    *********************************************************

Not being an expert......... I'd ask your county VSO.

But, I myself would have it filed in a heart beat with all the associated evidence you can send.. pile it on....

One never know if your claim you have iin now is a slam dunk....

plus the sooner you file the AO IHD claim the sooner your retro may start..... on the IHD

  7. How many of you think vets who file for IHD due to AO exposure will be denied because thay smoke.

    *************************************************************

If they try that it may start a fire storm, in the 60's everyone smoked like a chiminey, except me and I have filed for AO IHD

  8. Hi all fellow veterans. Question: Marine buddy of mine served in the air wing in Vietnam late 60's, just got diagnosed with Parkinson's, is this an AO presumptive now?? If so what is he entitled to? Appreciate any and al replys.

    ******************************************************************************

another Air Wing guy,,,,, JUST finished filing with my county VSO for AO IHD presumptive.

File real quck, the faster the better to try to start a retrodate......

County VSO's where I live do a great job and are very nice folks....

Call a VSO tell them what you want to do have the DD-214 and your buddy ready to go...

VA health records, or civilian health records, ask your VSO ..... usually civillian records you

have to get the doctors office, & get the Hospital each for records,...... depending if they share records

Have all the civilian records copied, the VSO can do that for free, if you have a set from Dr, and or hospital. copy a set fill out the paper wwork,, the VSO does that you have your buddy sign some papers and submit your documents and the DD-214

and your off, if the VA wants more you can add latter....

The VA is writing the propose rules for this new group, a 90 day thing, but who know when they will actually drop the proposed rules out to public view, then after 60 days we, the public have 30 days to make comments.......adivise to have them maybe change a rule....

I have the web site you can go look for that stuff, but I figure the VA will drag that out .....

File and file now, do not wait....... repeat file now..

    S/F to your buddy....

ask him if he is a Hollywood Marine..

  9. I can't say for sure but this opens a lot of things up. What about people that have multiple types of this heart disease and the effect each one has on the other. Each disease may be benign in of itself but in combination can be deadly. This is a toughy and I can only see the backlog of cases go much higher.

I have AO exposure and a presuptive IHD , have had three different ICD's implanted and just had a

eckocardiogram that as the VA studied was " poor result " then a Muga last week at the VA and the report back gave me a EF of 46... shich I think is better than my civilian Doccs said it was a mid 30's five years ago.

I suspect the VA will stall, and or narrow the application of the IHD presumptives claim, many will not be included....

I have filed the total claim with my VSO and await the results.

  10. A Doppler ECHO of heart can reveal IHD.

Also high blood lipid levels can suggest atherosclerotic involvement that leads to IHD.

The best thing any vet who is going to claim IHD due to AO can do is to get a decisive diagnosis of IHD from their doctor.

Once that diagnosis is clearly documented then the VA could not have wiggle room on IHD.

The new AO IHD presumptive is going to cost VA mega bucks as it is so I feel they will need a clear cut diagnosis of it in order to award AO comp for it.

    ******************************************88

had a echocardiogram at VA most part " poor study"

then last week I had a MUGA/LAO test waiting for results

have a ten year history with a civilian Cardiac electrophysiology that has implanted in the past ten year three

ICD . Letters from my Cardiac electrophysiology Doctor and my civilian internist.

Sent all Cililian Cardic files in with claim, along with ROI signed forms for all the other doctors and test I have ever had in the past 10 years.....

    I await what ever happens

  11. I'm wondering how many of us have filed a claim for this disease and how many will get the run around. I saw my cardiologist today and I'm scheduled for a heart cath next Friday plus ultra sound. (IVR) I mentioned I had filed a claim for IHD and he told me that the VA will most likely say that IHD is caused by smoking since they are a govt entity. Hey, Good Old Uncle Sam!

It could be like the doc says, but I remember getting those smokes in my c rations all the time, and a buck could get you a carton in the rear at the PX.

4 stints in the old ticker now and who nows what I'll end up with after next Friday.

Oh yea, doc says we are going to need a good rep for this one..... :(

    &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

just got back from VA hospital for a MUGA / LAO test it is a Radioisotope Testing

me thinks it is a test to get a ejection fraction rate....(Blood Flow???). they will, I suspect use that for

    ths AO IHD Claim......

Echkocardiogram of mine came back inconclusive....

  12. Anyone have a ICD implanted, I have IHD. this is third ICD for me and I have filled for AO IHD end of Oct. complete medical record from my Electrophysicists clinic were sent with claim and two letters from my doctors stating I have IHD.....

If they read the file and know what they are doing I hope that I have given all the info I can

  13. http://www.co.ramsey.mn.us/NR/rdonlyres/99...onditionsQA.pdf

Within Federal Register 60 days after Sec Sheinseki made the annoucement- was it Oct 13th? I found nothing at Fed Reg yet-

    has anyo0ne else checked?

then 60 days for regs to be prepared.

    &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Seems that I read that the new rules work this way

    1. 60 days to have the VA write the new proposed rules and refine them.

    2. submit the new proposed rules to public comment and input, they have 30 days to get that done

    3. Publish the actual rules on the 91st day.

Could be wrong, I hope not.....

They will stall if they can to stop/Stall the retro pay STARING date.....

  14. Just got letter from V.A.

    Dear Mr (Tinkerer)

We have received your compensation claim for ischemic heart disease based on herbicide exposure. However, this disease has not yet been added to the Department of Veterans Affairs regulations governing diseases presumptively associated with herbicide exposure. In order to add this disease, we must follow a series of legal requirements, including publishing a notice in the Federal Register. We have begun this process, but are holding your claim until these requirements have been met. When the process is complete, we will make a determination on your claim and provide you with a notice of our decision.

My guess, enough of us have not died of this yet so let's wait a couple of months!!!!

    Dave

    &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Hope they are wrong, also I have been told that with a ICD (mediGot same letter and I filed 26Oct09 for the presumptice IHD AO claim. I have been told that the VA probably will not use our dates of filing for any paymnet...

cal device) I will get a 100% rating,

Time will tell, anyone for a long knap till they decide?

My VSo and I meet mondayto send in ROI forms for medial records from all my health care providers& civilian hospitals , and letter from Cardiologist that implanted the ICD.

Plus a copy of my 30No2009 echocardiogram the VA gave me.... I have copy and am not afraid to use it...

  15. How is the VA going to figure the compensatable percentage rate?

How is the VA going to classify, clarify the ischemic heart disease and rate each

    case ?

Being a new guy, I asked my Dr. today he said I have all the paper workfor ischemic heart disease from 10 years ago along with

    all the records...

Am filing as soon as I get the letters from my Doctors and records....
