  9. I have a question and would like someone's advice. Thank you My 60th birthday is in January and I have read that it's best to apply for my deceased husband's SS a few months before my 60th birthday to give SS time to process. I receive SS disability and also receive DIC as he was a disabled veteran at this time. My question is: I have all my documents I require except the following Deceased worker's W-2 forms or federal self-employment tax return for the most recent year. Since I already receive SS disability (I already draw from his retirement) will I be required to have his W-2 forms or tax return. The SS did not ask me for his W-2 or tax return when I was granted my current SS Survivor check or DIC. Again Thank You for your help.

    Survivor Benefits

answer to the following: Well, your answer still isn't absolutely clear to me ... is the 'disability check' from Social Security, or is the disability check from your deceased spouse's ex-employer? my disability check is from ss and i am drawing off my deceased husband's ss record.

  14. Good morning all; I called Tricare yesterday with a question. I was told something I did not know and thought it was worth sharing here. I was told by all the representatives at Tricare that I had called that when my Medicare A& B started I was automatically moved to Tricare For Life whether I was 65 or younger. Well, I found out yesterday that is not correct. The representative I spoke to yesterday was new and not sure of this and put me on hold while she called the higher ups. She came back on the phone and told me that a person can stay on Tricare Prime up til the age of 65 even if they have Medicare A & B with NO Tricare Prime monthly fees. When they reach age 65, they are automatically changes over to Tricare for Life. So, if anyone is under 65 and on Medicare A & B then I was told that they have the option to stay on Tricare Prime as secondary insurance and pay no fees each month. Everyone have a great day, teejay

    Tricare For Life Fees

Good morning to all; It would be nice to have a basic idea of the fees for a widow of a retiree from the services to sorta work into ones budget before it passes. Something else to scratch your head over and worry about. A budget will only stretch so far. But I guess the folks passing these things really do not have to worry about that. Wishing all a great day. teejay
