    Dic And A House

hi all; in answer to the following: If I understand this correcctly, she is spending approx. $15,000 for these houses, total, correct? only adding her name to the deed to be responsible for little houses when her friend passes away. She is not "making" any money (at this time), correct? no money what so ever. So, she is not going to be showing any "income" for quite some time, correct? no income until and if he passes away before her. also if he sells houses before he dies no income from that either. So, No, it (the house deal) will not affect ANY of her current income. i really appreciate all your help as will she. looking forward to your response. teejay

    Dic And A House

when you say "earned income" ... you mean rental payment or some sort of income from houses? she told me she is only adding her name to the deed as joint tenancy so if her partner dies before her, she can dispose of the properties without his family being involved. is there a form i can tell her that she needs to do showing she gets no money value from these little houses, only when and if he dies before her? thank you, tj

    Dic And A House

hi all; i was asked a question by someone and i can't find the answer online. hopefully you can help me with it. a lady i was talking to about a week ago asked me this. she gets dic from the va and social security retirement. she has the opportunity to buy 3 cheap houses with a partner (somewhere around $5,000 each) will this make her dic stop or decrease it or change her retirement? the houses are in missouri and she lives in oklahoma. i am hoping someone can help me with this question so i can share it with her. thank you for your help. tj
  5. hi all; i found this and thought it may be of interest to all. everyone have a nice weekend - teejay --------------------------------------------------------------------- VA will stop issuing paper checks - 2013 On March 1, 2013, VA will stop issuing paper checks to comply with Department of Treasury policy. Veterans and other beneficiaries who do not have electronic payments for their federal benefits by that time will receive their funds via a pre-paid debit card. Called the Direct Express card, it is issued by Commercial Bank as the financial agent of the U.S. Treasury. As a prelude to going to totally paperless payments, those receiving VA compensation or pension benefits for the first time after May 1, 2011 will automatically receive the benefits electronically. Anyone already receiving federal benefit payments electronically will be unaffected by the changes. To learn more about the federal government’s switch to direct deposit – or to change VA benefits to direct deposit — visit www.GoDirect.org. Information about the federal government’s “Go Direct” campaign is also available at 1-800-333-1795. Along with payments for VA benefit, the change will also affect recipients of payments from Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, Railroad Retirement Board, and Office of Personnel Management. -From the VA ------------------------------------------ here is the link for this: http://www.veteranstoday.com/2011/01/03/va-will-stop-issuing-paper-checks-2013/

  23. i found this on the web and thought it would be of interest to all: The Seniors Protection Act of 2010 will provide a $250 payment to about 54 million Social Security recipients. Congressman Pomeroy introduced the bill, H.R. 5987, in July, and has since worked to ensure that this bill will be enacted before the end of the year. Congressman Pomeroy received assurances today from Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and Ways and Means Chairman Sander Levin that this bill will be brought to the House floor and passed when the House reconvenes in November visit here to read full article: http://www.savingtoi...l-security.html My link
