  1. Just went to the mailbox and there it was the most beautiful white envelope that I had ever seen. I tore it open like a kid at Christmas. I saw the words permanent 100% schedular and moot for unemployability. It also contained forms concerning education etc. for dependants. Can't wait to call the number Monday for ChampVa. Thanks to all of you who unknowingly have helped me on this journey.

Congratulations John46! It's so good to read this wonderful news!

  2. 100% TDIU P&T

Thank you Hadit and everyone on here Carlie and Tbird to name a few, and everyone else that helped, there was not a day that went by that i hadn't found someone with some kind of information on here to help me.

I would like to donate to the site, but can't find a link, can someone post one?

    thank you and god bless

    Congratulations! This is great news!

  3. Got the official letter from the VA yesterday confirming what the DAV said. So now I wait on the back pay I suppose. VA says my first pay day will be April 1st.

    Congratulations world_wide!!

  4. Hey all Got a question. I have full access to ebenefits, however since I had access, if I try to access my claim status, it always says "error, cannot access information at this time". I have called the ebennies tech support, peggy's number, and the access number for dpmd tech support, and I always get ""I can access it, I don't see why you can't" and nobody can see what can be done. Any suggestions?

Suggestion: Try clearing you cache. On firefox simply clearing history helps when this happens to me.

  5. Some of these doctors talk just to make conversation. What is important is what they put in the reports. When I had an EMG they told me it was normal. When I got the report of findings, The report stated that it was an abmormal result showing nerve function slowing due to a herniated C-4. They ruled out shoulder, elbow and carpul tunnel as the cause of the numbness and loss of flexibility in my hand and fingers. Old age is not a diagnosis and normal aging does not result in your symptoms. There is a specific disease etiology that will be diagnosed. It took the VAMC three years of listening to my complaints of head, neck, shoulder, arm, hand and finger pain and numbness to schedule the mri's and emg's.

I've gone thru the same Hoppy. Most recently I got a phone call from the Vascular Clinic stating they had "reviewed my chart" and everything looked "fine" so they would like to cancel my annual appointment and schedule me for testing in 1 yr. as a follow up. You always get the "How are you doing?" but never get, "Have you noticed any changes" or "Have you been having any problems?" On my last visit I was told by an intern that the fact that I had lower leg pain at rest was not PAD!

    It all makes me wonder.

  6. I hear you! The waiting gets to you after awhile. After nearly 2 yrs. I got a phone call to set up a C&P a week ago. I got so excited. Just knowing that they were doing something with my file gave me hope. I know I've still got a long ways to go but at least it's a start.

It's great to read that yours is moving forward!

  7. If a medication IS NOT SCORED - it is not supposed to be split.

    UPDATED INFORMATION FOR

    VA TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT PROGRAM (VATAP)

    REPORTS

    http://www.va.gov/VA...ing2000tagm.pdf

"PBM reported to TAP that its primary concern in the

draft was protection of patient safety.

The draft lists tablets that cannot be divided as: non-scored sustained

release preparations; enteric-coated tablets; and tablets that crumble easily."

I've read this before...but that doesn't stop them. The VA pharmacy has always issued me oval, non-scored, enteric-coated generic Crestor & a pill cutter.

  8. We have a new VA psychiatrist at our rural OMH clinic. She's wonderful - she's new to the VA and hasn't yet lost her mind dealing with the administration.

She is frustrated with the pharmacy side of things. She told us (DH & I are both patients) that she doesn't like generics, especially from the lowest bidder. She said that by law, generics are allowed to vary from the patented formula by 20% in strength. This could mean the generic is 20% stronger or 20% weaker than the brand-name drug.

Does that sound right? I mean, I like her and feel like she knows her stuff, but can they really be that far off the formula?

It certainly would explain why sometimes it feels like the meds aren't working as well as the month before, etc.

It seems bizarre to play so fast & loose with MH meds. What if one month my anti-anxiety is stronger and the same month my anti-depressant is weaker... wouldn't that really put me on a slippery slope??

And why the Heck are they prescribing so much gabepentin to a person with MDD? Oops, that's another thread.

For what it's worth...This is what the FDA has to say about generics:

    http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/ResourcesForYou/Consumers/BuyingUsingMedicineSafely/UnderstandingGenericDrugs/ucm167991.htm

My wife says that the internist she worked for (10 yrs) had a few medications that he would not interchange with generics, but they were few in number. My wife had more problems keeping her thyroid medication stabilized when she switched to generics.
