GAF is Global assesment of functioning or something like that. I can't remember the scale very well but I think 50 would be moderatly impaired.GAF's below 40 are severley impaired with under 35 generally being close to hospitalization or hospitalized.

My responce here shouldn't be considered completely accuarate but your question might not be answered better till morning.

Ths lower your gaf score the better for disability compensation purposes. 50 is about as high as you want to get. The 30's and 40's are much better for disability purposes. m You can google "gaf scores" and you will find the VA's interpetation of the different scores.
