Has any one called the 1-800 number to the VA and found out that you will no longer be directed to your servicing regional office?
I called today to check on my appeal that should have gone to the BVA over two years ago and my video hering already conducted, but has been held up at the regional office because they said the DRO wanted to look at it again for a possible decision. When the phone was answered it was answered by a call center in St. Louis. When I told the guy what I wanted he said "well I really do not know anything about appeals, but hold on a second and let me see". Well needless to say the conversation went down hill from there.
I tried two more times and failed to reach my regional office. I then asked why St. Louis continued to answer the phone. The answer I received made me fall out of my chair. The guy said that the VA has now broken the country into a West Coast and East Coast type situation with call centers located in St. Louis and Ole Miss. He explained that this is for better service and that short of traveling to your regional office you could no longer speak with the regional office!
Yep better service with the answer of "well I really do not know anything about appeals." I tell you guys and gals, I do not know about this better service situation. Just wanted to check ans see if you guys have experienced this and had to deal with this "better service" provided by the VA.
