If these allegations are true it is an appalling indictment of the VA. The problem is that neither Congress nor the Executive Branch is disposed to offer any solutions nor do they have the courage to investigate. Simply look at the current Secretary's nomination and confirmation process. Perhaps this behavior is systemic throughout the government. In spite of this we should not lose faith, but rather support each other to overcome and achieve our goals.

Really well said: "support each other to overcome and achieve our goals."

Is this suggestive of what may be happening in many of the VARO's because the writer only talks about the San Diego RO, specifically.

I just pray the VA decides my claim this year (2008) in my favor, before things get any worse than they already are.

I know a rating specialist who worked for the VA for 20 years in another RO. He never said much about neputism. However, he was of the opinion that many adjudicators were undertrained and that this was a problem that was out of control.
