I had a Veteran call me about NSC pension......This Vet served in the Army from 1961...to June 1964.

I think that Nam Vets are from 1965 to 1975, am I correct on this? and his 1964 discharge date will not get him into "A Time Of War" for NSCP.

JR,

The CFR says this:

Vietnam era. The period beginning on February 28, 1961, and ending on May 7, 1975, inclusive, in the case of a veteran who served in the Republic of Vietnam during that period. The period beginning on August 5, 1964, and ending on May 7, 1975, inclusive, in all other cases.

Vietnam War: Aug. 5, 1964 (Feb. 28, 1961, for veterans who served “in country” before Aug. 5, 1964), through May 7, 1975. http://www1.va.gov/opa/is1/
