The Va Has Made A Decision...

Question

Hi All,

I just got off of the phone with the VA Regional Office. The guy that I spoke with said that they had made a decision and that the letter will be released today and it will tell me what benefits that I am eligible for. So, I said oh, ok, well can you tell me what the decision was? (Of course I know he wouldn't, but I didn't think it hurt to ask.) Anyway, he said he wasn't allowed to tell me. He said, when you receive the letter if you agree with us, that's good, however if you don't agree with us, then you may file an appeal.

Before I spoke to the guy on the 800#, The system told me that my benefit amount information was unavailable at that time, and that If I wanted to speak with a service representative that I could press the #?. Not sure what that means. Could it mean they approved my TDIU and my benefit amount has changed and they are still updating the system?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I asked that question about why my information was never in the system and directed me to an operator, I was told only initial claim info is put in the automated system and appeals, reconsiderations, etc is not.

Cherie, do you have a Vetrerans Service Org helping. The AL and the DAV have offices either next to or just down the hall from the RO's. Most of them have direct contact with the RO.

Call your rep and tell them to go find out what the decision was.

Cherie, I got my back pay and now my monthly amount and I still have not received the "official" notification from the VA. I got a copy of the decision from my SO and he said that since it was a BVA appeal it would take a couple of months for the decision to be put into the computer and for them to get me the info. Don't know what I would have done without my SO telling me what the money was for that I got. Anyhow, I will keep my fingers crossed for you, say a prayer for a speedy notification, and urge you to call the 800 number again and ask what your percentage is. Do an IRIS inquiry also. Hit all of the bases as you make your end run! I think I have the games mixed up. Oh well, you know what I mean right? B)
